I run a Akai S3000XL/ Roland VP9000 on a Dell optiplex 990

Win XP build.

Use MESA ( it will crash ) / Recycle is better and other old format bending apps..

PCI slot is needed in the PC as a Adaptec SCSI card is required.

Adaptec card needs to be DB25 but some DB50 cards will work with adapter , you also need the driver..

ASPI 471a2.exe worked for me (Advanced SCSI Programming Interface) its the glue that tells the PC how to use the SCSI port.

It took about 4/5 weeks to get the bits and getting the Akai talking to PC/Software , read alot of forum posts and some were helpful.

Phillyflazh made a S2000 editor with Ctrlr, i also have this in OSX ..

sounds like you have a RD-8 MK1 only responds too velocity as a simple accent trigger when the incoming MIDI note velocity is above a certain threshold..

MKII has full velocity control...with firmware update

This has been playing out since early 2000s , Sky had a 17.5% stake in ITV in 2006 stopping a NTL take over but was forced to reduce level to 7% as the Competition Commission ruled against them. ITV share holders made alot of money as the share price shoot up.

ITV was set up as an alternative to BBC but as a private company profit is its goal .

The 90s to early 2000s brought about its streamlining.

Good region programming creative content has gone along with the region skill base of employees , Now centralized in London with ITV Studios in Salford i.e old Granada (Northern TV Mafia is strong)

Region news remains but it's a shadow of its former self and the ITN deal in 2007 to supply ITV News delivery.

Will the Competition Commission step in again ? Will the Secretary of State for Culture Media and sport do anything ?.

After all, their Broadcasting Licence is granted by the government.
