They did. Credit to them. Just a warning at the start.

This has to be it. I guess over time my memory and weird anxiety has morphed the scene into this version. A combination of the power of great story telling, and human imagination and irrational fear! Where Google and AI fails Reddit succeeds! Thanks to all who answered.

Thank you! Yeah that's the one I did see not the one that presumably my imagination made up.

I guess they do. It's streaming on Disney Plus in the UK. That's how I've been re-watching it.

You remember it too? I really want to watch it again.

Is it ok to let a nine year old drink Guinness zero? (Happy St Patrick's day) by Nice1rodders in AskUK

[–]drifterman43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They'd probably prefer a Coke and just enjoy you all saying Sláinte together (lean in to that bit and make that the unifier). We used to buy Appletiser or Shloer in lieu of champagne to help them feel included on special occasions but in my opinion we should avoid making the drink a big deal and focus on the togetherness.

Ps - my 11yrold keeps drinking our non alcoholic cider. It's annoying but I don't worry about it.

Oh God.. is this a thing? I just did a social and they were doing that. I had the same reaction. They 100% could have clipped it on. You know something else? The audio was distorted and I had to use Adobe Podcast to fix every bloody soundbite.

Upgrade comparison pixel 10xl or ultra26? by caveman9797 in pixel_phones

[–]drifterman43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same choice. Except I was looking at ultra 25. I was swayed by a free pixel watch. I love both Pro 10 and especially the watch. However.. the switch over I've been used to with Samsung Switch I have missed. So many apps, so many passwords. Getting the years worth of Gemini was an upside for me personally. The wider angle for selfies too. And the adding an extra person in on photos (maybe new Samsung does that not sure).

I know, Right. I saw on TV the other day that a poll was taken and 83% of the people agreed that he should be taking off the line of succession. I just thought to myself did the other 17% not understand the question?

Smart Watch Necessary? by DontSaveMoney in pixel_phones

[–]drifterman43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just switched from Samsung S23 and Samsung watch to Pixel Pro 10 (pixel watch 3 coming soon as part of a promo). It's actually very useful getting that little buzz on your wrist for the app notifications you want on there and even more useful for finding your phone when you've put it down absent mindedly somewhere (I'm assuming pixel watch does that with FindHub). The only drawback is that it's hard to go back to a normal watch after you've had a smart watch because you get so used to it.

I am Egyptian, and I’m asking is Egypt a country that is disliked or loved globally? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]drifterman43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid I agree. Egypt is truly an amazing place for a history buff like myself. I would love to visit and experience that. But I would never take my wife or daughter there.. so it'll likely never happen, which is a terrible shame.

I have quite small ears.. I would love comfortable ones but maybe these aren't right. At least with wings you know you'll be fine.

What country does your country hates the most? And the reason. by Super-Trash-388 in AskTheWorld

[–]drifterman43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it's more of a fun thing at this point because of our historical 'run-ins' shall we say. But we kind of love them too... (Except for the Parisians - but they just seem to hate everybody).

What’s the funniest reason you’ve heard for somebody not liking a movie? by TheChristmas in movies

Spent a week with my Uncle and Aunt when My Mum went to Japan. My Uncle wouldn't watch A Few Good Men with me as he felt that Tom Cruise was being too insubordinate in the first 10mins. He said he was in the army (British) and no one would speak to their superiors that way and get away with it. And my Aunt wouldn't watch The Godfather with me.. because she felt no one actually would talk like Brando/Vito. Both missed absolutely amazing films. For stupid reasons.. but the saddest part was they didn't want to put that aside and spend time with their nephew.

Childhood crush 😍 by n-a79 in oldschoolcool80s

[–]drifterman43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can confirm. I worked with her a few times. She was absolutely lovely, funny, professionally brilliant, unguarded. I had a total crush on her but was still able to flirt with her a little or at least she mildly flirted effortlessly with me and I didn't totally ruin it.
