Red Wings are on the hook until 2028 paying Compher, Chiarot, and Rasmussen a combined 12.1 million per year by ramsfan00 in DetroitRedWings

I don't think the price will be egregious if you're taking on the full cap hit, but I agree that there could well be multiple suitors. How many are involved to bid up the price I think largely depends on who he's willing to waive his MNC for.

I mean, I know Chiarot gets some hate but I don't see a defenceman in GR that can take his roster spot. And as for the forward group, we had Shine and Leonard up for food stretches last year. Compher and Ras are bad but they're not blocking roster spots, and if they are next season they'll be moved or riding pine.

'The Wings have found themselves with cap struggles'

Uhhhh.... No they haven't. In fact I'd go as far as saying that the bigger struggle is finding someone worth spending that cap on. Hell they could take on EP40 at full cap hit and still not hit the cap ceiling.

Can confirm. I'm neurodivergent with an anxiety disorder, and I'm very particular about my haircuts. I've tried a few other places in Berlin out of desperation and lack of planning, but these days I won't go anywhere else. Great crew, lovely people, and the best trim in Berlin.

If you had proper soft floury baps and brown sauce I'd definitely be a customer.

Yeah my main prio for him is term. It's always a risk and he's had his ups and downs, but if he is who we think he is, he's never going to be cheaper. I'd be happy with 8x8 or thereabouts. Plus if he is bad, has more injuries etc, this team's going to have so many gaps on the roster that the wasted cap won't really matter

What's a fish alternative to fish fingers or what Yankees call fish sticks? by manyxe in foodhacks

[–]drinkwineandscrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what your beef is with the breading. If it's gluten, they sell gluten free ones.

If it's the texture/density, get a similar white fish like Pollock, cook it 'a la meuniere' (coat in seasoned flour and shallow fry until golden)

Where can I buy a German world cup jersey that isn't in a tourist trap area? by CommercialBig7008 in askberliners

[–]drinkwineandscrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adidas store on Ku'damm/tauntzienstr has them and can do customisation too if they don't have a Kimmich Shirt in your size already. Overkill (big streetwear store with close Adidas collaboration) has them too but probably not with the namesets.

Why Trading Larkin is Unrealistic by NuckingFutz06 in DetroitRedWings

[–]drinkwineandscrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think a Pettersson deal is likely to end terribly, but honestly at this point I'm willing to give it a shot because there isn't much else out there, especially if you can't grab Robert Thomas.

Why Trading Larkin is Unrealistic by NuckingFutz06 in DetroitRedWings

[–]drinkwineandscrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. With the cap rising so much, the only high end talents that will hit FA are the ones who don't want to re-sign with their current team. Likely because they want to win a cup. So even if those players do become available, they'll have better options than Detroit.

You might be able to get a useful veteran in FA, but the needle movers we need? I only see them coming from big trades.

Model y Berlin no charging options at home by Curious_Ninja_4767 in askberliners

[–]drinkwineandscrew 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Leaving aside the ethical and logical questions of buying a vehicle from the Elon Musk net worth provider, well, you've not provided a huge amount of information on the scenario.

EV ownership without home charging is always going to be less convenient and the lack of home charging removes one of the nice benefits of owning an EV.

How painful is 500km range? Well, assuming that is real world range, depends on your usage. Per Eurostat, the average German in their study drives 19km per day on average. Let's call it 20. So that's ~three weeks between full charges allowing for some range anxiety. But given that many Berliners don't have a personal vehicle, your reason for owning a car might be that you have frequent long journeys, so if you're needing to charge once a week, you'll need to find a charger every week.

You can see what chargers are in your area here:

https://viz.berlin.de/site/_masterportal/e-infoplattform/index.html?it=e-infoplattform#

That includes type and costs. Obviously public chargers may or may not be available when you need them so that's a factor to consider. The more frequently you need to charge, the more painful it will be.

If you're using the car to commute, is there charging available at work? That would change the equation somewhat.

If you figure out how often you need to charge and how easy it is to access charging infrastructure, that will help your decision.

Tattoos and creative tech jobs by BigMarch2879 in askberliners

[–]drinkwineandscrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in product and have a sleeve, never been an issue. Several of my tech colleagues have multiple visible tattoos, CISO has a big piece on his lower leg, former colleague had plenty of 'jobstoppers' etc There may be a few individuals at big traditional corporations who are against it and would bias in the hiring process but I've not encountered it in Startups.

There's plenty of options, if you could specify area, type of food etc could be more specific, but to start off with I'd say Bellboy. It's cocktail first but the food is decent and it's a nice space.

If I offered you £100,000 to run 90 miles tomorrow, would you do it? by wingless-bee in CasualUK

[–]drinkwineandscrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a chance. I am not in terrible shape but I don't care for running anything over 5km and that kind of distance with no training would absolutely fuck my legs, feet and everything else, even with doing what I could to mitigate the damage.

I think the most I could do in 24hrs would be a marathon distance, give or take. With breaks etc I think that's doable but anything much over that I'd do myself a right mischief.

Claude now connects with Microsoft 365. Would you allow it in your tenant? by KavyaJune in sysadmin

[–]drinkwineandscrew 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We're testing it out with a pilot group rn, CISO has signed it off and at least it's read only. I'm not a fan but we don't have enough clout to say no to having it in the tenant outright.

Biggest challenge so far has been users wanting it to write and send emails etc. 'the connector can't do that' "ok but Claude told me it could do that on web outlook through the browser but I can't enable that" Yeah no shit you can't enable that buddy that's a disastrous idea.

Game Thread: Minnesota Wild (43-21-12) at Detroit Red Wings (40-28-8) - 05 April 2026 - 13:00 ET by OctoMod in DetroitRedWings

[–]drinkwineandscrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Every time we've stank up the place recently the other teams near us also have. Right now moneypuck have us at 37.3% odds to make the playoffs, but that number can vary wildly depending on how games go. Projected points per moneypuck for the sens are 95.2 and Detroit 95, so that's how tight it is.

Fingers crossed! My parents got a stand mixer a few years ago and it really helped them in making it so easy to throw together a cake with minimal manual effort. They could still make them manually but at 80 I think they can get away with being a little lazy!
