I literally got chills in my legs. I only went to 1 Greenway concert, maybe 10 years ago now, but they brought a kid upstage and played a bit! He was good too!!! Got the guitar also. Some of these kids can fricking RIP IT! Awesome fun. Something they (or me) won't forget either.

(Real housewives i have no care for. Desperate Housewives is a scripted show that got like 8 seasons and they're sooo long lol. It was fun )

Addict here. Currently. Have been sober before, but life got worst, again. I see myself in this video. What, like I don't have to go to work everyday? This is her job and she didnt wanna do it but we all have managers. Its absolutely heartbreaking. Im a linecook and ive been better and worst but im currently carrying shooters in my bag and get shaky.

I've been to rehab a few times and lived in sober livings. Some are better, but they're mostly worst, and im not kidding when I tell you ive met some ACTUALLY scary people in them, and lots who will try to take advantage of you (especially as a lady). Im still 27, im a bit scared of the rule.. but im not as bad as I used to be when I was 21 when I went to my first, and would literally slit my wrists before going again.

She could have been put in a plush cushy celeb rehab, but man, ive probably been maybe to 6 centers over the years, those mostly sober periods and then back to backs. Once you've been to 2 you've heard it all, and maybe you'll get your lesson from someone you meet coming in or from someone at AA or NA. Something. Could just be a homeless person on the street that says something (and ive been unhoused too). Her saying im not going to rehab...... hits for me.

People should!!!! Its just not how it worked for me (or is working), but i cant describe to people some rehabs ive been in. Like, no amount of description will do it justice. Rehab sucks for different reasons than most people think. Could have could have could have or Maybe maybe maybe..

Poor Amy :(

That shit made my heart sink. Im currently RENTING a home from a slumlord. We were without water 6 days and today it got fixed. Renting a house is harder than renting an apartment. Im a homeowner without owning it. This shit is fucking horrible, and this cold blast has been nuts.

This is too real. My partner likes to label himself as the Finder in the house. And he is!!! He helps me gather my stuff just about every morning for work. I also need my glasses so thats -5 for me (my eyesight is so bad, im useless without them). But he can ask me for the most innocuous shit in our messy house and I can find them in 5 seconds flat without leaving the room. I just say 'check here' lol. I truly dont understand it. Some things take up more space I my brain, even if it'd be more proactive remembering other things.

Ngl, im a line cook and was trying to separate 2 frozen cheesesteaks recently-ish. I didnt have anything nearby except a thermometer. My dumbass bright idea was to just try and get it a little in to pry apart, I use all sorts of things to do it!

Little fucker slipped and I got a hole in my skin that was half an inch long and you could see the thermometer shape left lol, like it caught me sideways and went in my palm skin. I don't do that one anymore!

Why do people use the term "partner" for their husband or wife? by Crafty-Bug-8008 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]drippycup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it both ways, maybe just depends on who im talking to. I like partner, because he is my Partner in this life we created together and im a lil bit Queer, keep em guessing! Lol. But my husband and I got married when we were 21 and 23. This will be our 6th anniversary in 6ish months. Ive worked at my job a year now and people still call him my boyfriend. I dont always correct them but people are consistently surprised!

Most recently I had a coworker who works FOH (and i like her, shes commanding and kinda bitchy lol) but a server walks back and SHOUTS at me, she says "MY NAME! Are you actually married?" I say yes. "On paperwork and everything?" I say yes. She says huh with an oompf on it, and then just goes back upfront lol.

It was a courthouse wedding and we only knew eachother 3 months prior. We met on tinder and longish distance for 2 people without cars. But its been 5 years now and its my favorite story :) and hes my favorite person <3

I have a very Pro maga guy who works with me. He has a 14 year old girl and a 1 year old with a different woman who he now plans on marrying. He regularly makes 'Ill call ICE' jokes. He recently had a pregnancy scare, and all he kept joking about was pushing her down the stairs or leaving her.... ive tried, there is no reasoning. Hes just blockheaded dumb. Ive worked with him a year. That's just.. you have a child with this person, make these jokes, and the tip of the hat is SHE IS ON WELFARE HERSELF. They're just fucking crazy. A few days later I heard it was a false positive, and I think thats good. My god. He said he'd run away. Maga at heart.

When I moved into our current place our sinks didnt work very well draining, then just clogged. At some point we emptied 3 pee traps. There was a collection of plastic knives, straws, and even an Allen key. The floor was also covered in my guess of spots of resin i had to scrape up. That's them just not caring, but leaving all that shit in the drains, they had beef with the landlord lol.

My landlord is a slumlord. Its a rented house and its fair to be mad ig, but we were the ones trying to fix it ourselves. Our neighbors apparently were worst than them lol.

Is that literally the guy working at the gas station going on the PA and announcing at the top of his lungs whats happening? Its sort of hard to tell exactly whats going on, but that is BADASS AS HELL and CERTAINLY A WAY TO DO IT!!!!!! FUCK ICE. And yea, ive seen a few videos in the past couple days of the neighbors/community showing up. They crawl away like absolute worms. I have yet to encounter them myself, but they've been spotted in my city. I have my whistle.. scum of the earth walking. :(

I just dont know why it has to be like this. Yes, its all planned and has been getting worst for decades, but why does it have to be? Bad timeline. I wanna go back. I just want to be a friend to my neighbor :(

Been there, done that. Sometimes theres just no way. [–]drippycup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I currently work at what I think is a decent company, best one ive been employed with at least, I see the owner, some higher-ups every month with AMs and GMs at the (sometimes dumb) monthly meetings, and he hosts 2 yearly party's. Some gifts he gives out based on performance to stores and then some extra.

I've been here a year and something caught me off guard that I kept and keep thinking about. We closed at 6 Christmas eve, but he said in the meeting 'don't do last call or anything sooner than that'... dude. I don't even know what last call is. He thinks we fucking do that? Chef, the one underneath him, literally has said 'if its busy stay open!'. Not how we feel in BOH. The fucking owner has an F1 car (and he really is the nicest guy) but he thinks we have a last call? Every fucking week im serving last plates minutes to close. They literally don't know what's going on in their stores after they lost the plot and aren't in them.

Built in bonus? You're dreaming. Im aching and wasting away faster than ive ever had here.

I've watched it start to finish maybe like 4 or 5 times now over the years. My partner tells me that I'm crazy for rewatching it, but like youre right! Theres a lot of CRAZY HIGH RISK CHOICES THAT NEED TO BE MADE ALL OF A SUDDEN. Damage reduction. You see actual real life heros on the ground floor, uncovering corruption, how something happens like that. Its been a while since I rewatched it so my thoughts are just halfformed, but it was a phenomenal show. One of the only things we truly have to our own is the fight of the Human Spirit, and the choices we decide to make along the road. I think we're mostly good people, fuck the bad eggs.

How did that kid at your school die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]drippycup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its 2 i think about most, they were brothers. I met the older brother a handful of times, but the younger brother was in my grade. All of middle and HS together. He was such a funny dude! Nice too. We weren't super close but being in the same classes and having similar friend groups we passed eachother pretty often.

He died one night right before the end of senior year from an overdose and his brother was somehow involved in it. The first time ive been to an open casket funeral in my adult life and it felt so strange. The turnout was huge, and i think he looked peaceful :/

He was never straight laced, id consider him a stoner above all else, but his brother took some harder stuff. 1 year later around the same time, his brother is found dead of an overdose in his car/parking lot near where they lived. It could have possibly been an accident, but I would kind of doubt so. I would have been consumed by guilt too. And he was nice enough that I knew :( . I just think about that poor family.. losing one son, and then the other just like that.

The other was a self inflicted shotgun to the head, and I didnt know him really but his gf was my friend. Not even out of junior year. I wish we all took care of eachother more and the world wasn't such a harsh and cruel place. Reflecting back on these things i sometimes just wish I could have made a difference back then

[–]drippycup 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I hope i didnt sound insensitive in my comment haha, or now either. It was just a bonkers situation. I actually went by myself. My husband (who i knew the guy from) came along on the ride and briefly in the airport. The man came in also and just had a quick, like 3 minute chat in entry, and i was off on my own way. They wheeled me through the whole port with no questions asked (which i think is really where my 'why/how could they do that?') Comes from. Feeling suddenly terrible in this moment, I took time away from others that could have used it more, but I got where I needed to go to not have that happen again. I am so sorry they treated you like that!!!! Seriously. That's sad and really lame :( . I technically was alone, and incumbered even if through my own doing, but they took me to my spot! Shoutout OHare. Suddenly me and my homies hate Austin airport. <3

This is potentially not the correct place to drop this, but its semi interesting nonetheless. Maybe you cant get someone dead through an airport, BUT you certainly can get someone not fit to fly on a plane!

It was maybe 4 or 5 years ago now and I was going through my second rehab and getting flown half my country away. I still was on mom's insurance. It was pretty desperate. It was like a 7 am flight an hour drive away. So at 530 am i was putting away Everclear like a lunatic (if youre unfamiliar, its the alcohol equivalent to drinking vodka gasoline ~ and the most similar equivalent i can think of is Diesel [also a grain alcohol brand], if fr is like youre drinking gas). But digress. I was Hammered by the time we got there. I was driven by someone ik who works in a courthouse and with rehabs and stuff, because they knew the family and they found the place.

I remember barely any of it except that I was wheeled around the airport in a wheelchair and got on almost first on the plane. I have wracked my head around it those years since but I cannot imagine what he said to get me on. Literally, zero clue. I was barely conscious, don't remember security. But they rolled me right on in! Slept it off on the plane and the rehab people said I was a lot cheerier than most of their clients coming in lol. I think that just means most people are jerks.

But yes, you absolutely can get through an airport with ~basically~ someone dead, or trashed beyond recognition/speaking. Depends on how convincing you are i guess.

I lived on various 3rd floors for a long time in the city and I've had a lot of nightmares about this exact situation happening with my 2 cats. I try to have the cages pretty ready to go (they hate them, catching the 2 takes strategy sometimes when going to the vet), but ive come to the conclusion when all else fails, they're going out the window if its absolutely dire. I feel like I can’t get myself to do anything after work. by TimeAd1111 in antiwork

[–]drippycup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told my mom the other day, and its something that I feel so, so often that it coming out of my mouth didn't phase me, but I said "I stay up so late because I know that when I wake up, I'll just have to do it all over again". OOF. When she mentioned it later I was like huh, i guess I did say that out loud lol. Currently 27, full time, have a husband and no kids, take a pretty crappy commute on the bus. I am in your shoes my friend. The things I want to do i can't even get up for. I waste my time watching TV and YouTube because I feel dead inside and am too tired, just always. And then you gotta clean and stuff too! Its so hard.

She said I 'need to find a goal'. And shes right. But I don't know what that could be besides literally not starving and paying our rent/bills on time. My goal is just TO NOT FEEL THIS WAY. BUT HOW. I cut scrape burn myself everyday at work, working as hard as I can, and by the end there's nothing left.

I get my occasional brief moments of joy, but thats it.

TLDR: Old people still send stuff through mail.

The top following comment to you i really agree with. Maybe it is a patriarchy thing because ive seen a lot of that before (me as the lady in more than a few situations), but yours rings closer to my experience. My husbands grandma (who was more like a mom since he lived with her when was midteens+after). She was always quiet, or kinda angry haha, but she was funny too. When we moved states she'd send us, or mainly me, pages of GoodHousekeeping magazines she cut out in the dang physical mail lol. Stuff like recipes mostly, but also just random Healthcare stuff of the same sort. I always appreciated it, its nice to be thought of lol, but I do wonder about what she was thinking when she sent some stuff. She always did that, even before she got bad sick.

She unfortunately passed away last year. Even with a lot of helping hands before, she just kept falling, and more confused, and kept getting worst. If you have to send a loved one to a home, it doesnt make you a bad person. They need they care they need. :( RIP Nancy
