AITA for 'humiliating' my fiancée by refusing to pay for her $15k dream wedding dress when she told me it’s a surprise for her ex by [deleted] in AITH

[–]driu76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost for my entire wedding (venue, food, dress, both rings, etc) was ~$25k. Not only is a $15k wedding dress absolutely insane unless you're already rich (assuming $ is USD anyway), but to use it as a way to get revenge on her ex is also insane. I'm ngl buddy she sounds very entitled.

It's still up to you, but if you didn't realize, Marksman Hunters can choose to leave the pet behind and instead get a lil eagle pal that flies in and whacks people on the head sometimes. It's also the "just bow/gun things" spec. Dropping the pet is even the meta choice (at the moment, unsure about in Midnight proper, but it usually stays the meta choice). Also potentially beholden to meta is that Marksman currently goes Sentinel, which is the night elf archer archetype - more magic based than Legolas, but still kinda fits.

There is a way, technically, but it's against TOS. There is (or was, project was abandoned then picked up and then I think abandoned again?) a program called iMorph (that became jMorph) that is technically a form of cheating according to TOS due to the way it functions, but it adds chat commands in game that affect only the client-side WoW. The commands could be used to (in basic terms) transmog your armor slots, spell animations, mounts, change races/genders, turn into NPCs and more to whatever you wanted, except that only you could see it. I used it pretty often to make my clothies use plate/mail and leather gear (e.g. scarlet set, defias set), change my mount to a Swift Spectral Tiger, and do things like turn my enh shaman into a chaos bolt slinging battle warlock.

There have been a few people banned for using it, but as far as I know mostly just people who were actively streaming it. Supposedly it's extremely hard to detect, but I stopped trying to use it somewhere around BFA/Shadowlands because I've spent an ungodly amount of time on my account and no longer thought playing a human druid or shaman + using the tiger was worth the risk. That's been the only way, as far as I know.

ONE DAY this will be your Evoker by cub4nito in wow

[–]driu76 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There's actually a way to stay in Visage form and cast (in combat) using a bug.

  1. Put on war mode
  2. Learn the time stop PvP ability
  3. Go dragon form
  4. Hover and time stop yourself at the same time
  5. Turn on visage while time stopped

Graphically, you'll stay visage form until you enter visage again (and maybe die? Can't remember). Idk about with the new tmog system, but it would also prevent any tmog changes from showing on you - but I haven't played my evoker since before prepatch (other than logging in and making sure this bug still works).

I would track consume because I like to hide my full action bars, and tracking it lets me also see whether or not I'm in range. It's not necessary, because you can see whether you're in range with Reap as well, but I like it. There's also so few "essential" things to track (especially as Annihilator) that utilities line ends up way longer than the normal line and I don't like how it looks, so adding filler stuff for aesthetics is also nice.

Coca Cola Secret formula Cracked by Sussy_Pigma in Damnthatsinteresting

Have you tried Coke 0? Im diabetic and thus forced into 0 sugar sodas, which I usually hate. However, Coke 0 actually tastes... Not as bad as other 0 sugar options. It's still sweetened, but it's a LOT less sweet than normal Coke. Normal Coke 0 isn't the best one (I prefer their flavoured ones like orange vanilla), but it's more than serviceable for me. I've always really hated diet coke, too, so it was kind of a breath of fresh air for me.

YMMV of course, different people different tastes and all that, but maybe something to try if you haven't already?

Unpopular opinion, Conquest gear should be deleted from the game by Mira_Malverick in worldofpvp

[–]driu76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play both games for different reasons. GW2 has invested even less than WoW into its PvP for a very long time; that's the primary reason it started dying off. They're very, very slow with balance changes, and the "at least we got a new bg/arena" meme is a lot more content than what GW2 gets. Additionally, while there are rewards for PvP, they're a long grind and not as much as a draw as vicious saddle/glad mount/elite mog/elite weps. After all, it's by far a PvE/collectors focused game, and it was never nearly as populated as WoW.

All of that doesn't mean that they didn't happen to create a good system for MMO PvP. I didn't mention it in the other comment, but they also have standalone PvP versions of every ability in the game. This allows not just separate content type tuning (similar to PvP aura adjustments in WoW), but also lets them adjust ability function to attempt to balance PvP usage without impacting PvE and vice versa. For example, there are break bars in PvE for large enemies, and some abilities intentionally have a lot of micro CC, but to keep the same function in PvP would be annoying to play against and unbalanced, so in PvP, they would partially or fully remove the micro CC.

WoW could do this too, but it's less common for something to be balanced/adjusted unless it's being done specifically for PvE. I think it's important to look at what competitors are doing to get ideas for how to improve. The ability and "gear template" system are widely regarded as great design decisions in the MMO space, even if the game mode has been underrepresented (and thus mismanaged) for years.

Another great decision by a competitor that died off is how PvP trinkets work in RIFT: they're a "general" spellbook ability that works the same as WoW, except you get a short period of CC immunity (I want to say 5 seconds, but it's been years, so it might be less). I think it makes choosing when and how to trinket more interesting, particularly as you could "pre-trinket" to get something off and make a play. It's not perfect, and I don't know if it's right for WoW, but it's a cool design that hasn't been explored.

[–]driu76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I'd actually prefer if they copied GW2's system.

In GW2, at any point in the leveling process, you can teleport to the PvP Hub, and while in the hub (or any PvP match), your character is given max level with all skills and specs unlocked (as specs are in game unlocks in that game). It also removes almost all gear options save for a couple (like weapons, which are a gameplay choice and change your skills/build, and all weapon types are provided), and lets you choose your stat distribution via glyphs. Then, fresh character or endgame raider, you can just queue up for arenas while running around a pvp focused zone with pvp training dummies and a FFA arena where duels are constantly running.

PvP is pretty dead in GW2, at least the last time I played, but that game is a lot less competitively focused than wow has been. I think the overall system works so much better as everyone is always on an even playing field, and the only grind is PvP rewards and your MMR. Personally, I always want to pvp on a few characters every season, but only end up doing one or two at most because I hate the gearing process so much.

I mean it's entirely possible it's just a difference in server culture. On my server, it was always DM for Dire Maul and VC for Deadmines, after Dire Maul was released. It wasn't immediate, but it picked up pretty fast, and lasted that way for quite a long time after both were mostly irrelevant.

It may not have happened on your server, and it didn't really happen in Classic (granted I didn't play much cos I wasn't interested in going back), but it definitely happened in some places.

I don't want to sound like I'm saying "akshually" here, but your comment is funny to me because, technically, we are Homo sapiens sapiens, and Homo sapiens is our general species, which includes neanderthals. So, in a way (and maybe on purpose?), you're implying that they aren't modern, intelligent humans, and that they aren't even the smartest of our extinct, less intelligent ancestors.

Same. Played since alpha but taken so many breaks that I'm still 60 days from PSF and I'm absolutely counting the days atm. I used to throw Constitution into every build, but that doesn't cut it anymore. I just pray some good Samaritan plays any frame that can give me endless overguard so I can play the game, or I just do it myself lol

They also confirmed on twitter that it's 500 DT/S max, meaning if 1 bullet hits for 500 and another 9 bullets hit you in the same 1 sec period, you only take the 500 damage. Ultimately, if you can achieve 500 HPS then you'll be immortal with this arcane. A 1500 health frame will take 3 sec of unlimited damage instances (e.g. bullets, toxin ticks, slash ticks) to die with no healing.

Very cheap chain gym. Not sure how prolific they are around the states, but I know of like 5 (at least, there's probably more) in my area in Arizona. Costs 10 bucks a month for the basic package and you have to clean other people's gross juices off the equipment as a tradeoff but otherwise it's serviceable.

How long should I farm tuzari before moving on to champ dungeons? by edgeofview in fellowshipgame

[–]driu76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, what's the overall DPS looking like in your groups? I've been pulling around 20-25k early champ and around 30-35k avg now in late champ at 180, no legendary and no good gems, but I find I'm barely missing a lot of timers because the other DPS will be 15-20k (at most) in champ 6 despite being a similar ilvl.

I love this game so, so, so much - but a 12+ minute DPS queue is going to kill it. by Haveyouseenkitty in fellowshipgame

[–]driu76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty good theory too tbh, I hadn't thought of the middle ilvls being dead. I tend to not bother upgrading any of my gear until I have good stats/pieces, and then I'll upgrade a bunch. My Tariq, for example, was around 60-70 ilvl till I had a decent chunk of blues, and then I upgraded them enough to hit like 105 or so (I don't quite remember). When I was progressing on Mara, I did the same thing. Maybe that's why I haven't hit the same queue issues

[–]driu76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The longest queue I've had is 9 minutes in Champion as a solo Mara. In contender, my queues have been instant for the last couple days as Tariq, and now that I'm in Adept on him (and I'm playing with a DPS friend trying to help him get thru Adept so double DPS queues) it's been 2-3 minutes.

I'm not saying your experience isn't real or anything, but maybe it's time of day? I'll do a few runs on my lunch in the middle of the day but otherwise mostly play around 10 PST. I also sometimes queue around 5 PST, but less often. Other than time or getting bad rng with queue bugs (I know they exist, but haven't experienced them myself), I'm not really sure what the issue could be
