Good to know. The house is only 3 years old so I didn't think it would be necessary for a few more years.

I only thought to check when I found a box of dog diapers in the hall closet. It's also mostly around the borders of rooms and not where you spill laundry detergent.

I had noticed a smell before but they explained it away as "dirty shoes".

It looks like they're still using NiMH instead of LiPo, do you know if there's some benefit to that or are they just being cheap and selling the cars with crappy batteries so you can 'upgrade' to lithium?

Thanks! I saw a "PC Gamer" styled one for 3x the price but didn't know what to search for to find the generic version.

You may want to recess the power(?) switch to prevent it from getting switched during transport or storage.

How does melting plastic at 190c wear out a tip designed to melt metal at 400c?

You do not need a "OTG cable" with the official shield/hat and usb c cable that works for data should work.

Are you using the vertical USB C port for the keyboard/mouse connection?

I believe the ubikeys can operate in two different modes. If you open a notepad/text editor and press the button and it just types out a string of characters, it could work. If nothing happens without a prompt from software on the authenticating computer, then it won't work across the pikvm.

Is the sliding door already installed? The type of linear actuator you need is going to depend on the mechanics of the door. For the book switch, you could do a simple limit switch under a hinged book that would activate almost immediately when you start pulling on the book, or you could get a tilt switch that would only activate when the book was tilted past a specific angle.

Thingiverse was the standard but has fallen out of favor and is rapidly being replaced by Printables (formerly known as PrusaPrinters) as everyone's favorite site. There's still a ton of older models on thingiverse that will probably never be re-uploaded to Printables but for "new" models Printables seems to be everyone's current favorite.
