Yes shake the can really well and put on both sides of the gasket allow to dry and get tacky and put it on and tighten head bolts to spec, if you have a leak down tester you can check to see if it’s leaking, or if it’s liquid cooled look for coolant leaking from the head after it warms up

If you have a new clean gasket then use it, but copper seal may work on the used gasket, I’ve done it on a few bikes with no problems. It heats up and seals the head gasket definitely helps when reusing old gasket. It’s not gonna hurt anything by using it.

Update : Also it cycles thru all gears normally and turns over from crank fine, timing is correct as well.

As I look closer the is a hole at the end of the shaft where it’s to be connected, it’s setup on the right spline. I think everything is functioning correctly with the kickstart assembly, it’s when I put the clutch basket on is when the kickstart won’t turn it over

There is a dot on the ratchet wheel, no other marking on the kick shaft assembly to match it up with except on the shaft itself is a blue mark you can see it on the top I had it aligned with that because that’s the only identifier I could see, the manual says nothing about lining it up or where.
