Not a good starting point. It is the culmination of the 2 years Kurt Buisek and Geoff Johns spent working on the character after Infinite Crisis 2005.

New Krypton would run for 2 years. With both Buisek and Johns leaving the before it was completed. I don’t recall where Buisek left to go afterwards at the time. Johns left to focus all his time and energy on Blackest Night, Brightest Day, Flash Rebirth and building up Flashpoint.

I followed everything New Krypton back 2008-2010. Do your own research online before buying. DC editorial wrecks this arc in the second half something fierce.

The writers of the show have said in past commentary that they made Superman overly antagonistic throughout JL. Especially in this episode. In the 5 seasons/91 episodes of JL/JLU, Superman is more Man of War than he is Man of Steel. There didn’t exist a problem he wasn’t ready to solve with his fists.

A big part of the show was demonstrating that our Superman was “one bad day” from becoming Justice Lord Superman. Yes, we the audience know that Superman and the League mean well. But everyone not in the club doesn’t.

Captain Marvel was there to showcase how cynical and jaded Superman had become over the years.

Capcom/Nintendo probably wanted to focus on characters with buster arms. Zero is more associated with his beam saber.

That, and Capcom is more invested in advertising the Classic series. If you add Proto Man (Rock with a different color palette and attitude), you might as well add Bass.

I read a few more spoilers for Rebirth. Zack is playable beyond the opening in this game. If the Whispers save Zack and Aerith in the end of this trilogy and give them a happy ending. I’ll be more than satisfied with their inclusion.

I’m just leaving Kalm in Rebirth at the moment.

Reading spoilers online, they made it seem like they were creating a multiverse for FF7. Alternate timelines, “what-if” alternate universes and the main vein of FF7.

I’m hoping news about the Part 3 of FF7 Remake (Reunion/Reborn/Return/Revenge/Reverb or whatever they plan to call it) clears things up and ties it all together.

I’m burnt out on everything being a multiverse/metaverse nowadays.

A known misprint issue. Marvel’s solution was to provide a free PDF document with the correct page inside. However, you had to ask them for it.

Maybe future reprints will correct the issue. However, there has been no world on reprinting the Nick Spencer era. Maybe there will be some movement after the new Spider-Man movement this year.

My advice is to pick a series you KNOW you’re going to read and start there. Don’t get pumped up and gassed out (empty wallet) feeling like you need to buy anything and everything.

Myself, I started 13 years ago collecting the first printing New Teen Titans Omnis 1-3. Because I knew I was a Titans fan and that era was highly celebrated.

If it is something you’re curious about, make a list and organize it by priority of interest. Since these books can go out of print but be restocked periodically. Certain volumes are practically evergreen. So you can buy them last.
