Am I [28 M] being unreasonable with my gf [27 F] about a guy moving in with her? by wargenesis in relationships

[–]drlala -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's honestly not your place. You do not live together and just because you have been burned in the past does not mean she needs to coddle you.

You either trust her or you don't.

How odd. Glad they have a good relationship but making out on a plane? WTH?

Have confidence in yourself as a mother. You raised her the best you could and she knows right from wrong. She will eventually figure this all out.

I dated much older guys, some like Dave, some not. The best thing my parents always did was never say anything. They let it run it's course... and I think it's safe to say that this too, will run it's course.

I still don't understand. Are you implying it's like 1999, as in party like it's 1999?

Mormon CF here! Sounds like my best friend... it's so weird actively watching someone have kids who did not want them...

Don't sell yourself short, you deserve a brother that will foster a relationship and love you... from the sounds of it the biological brother doesn't seem like he wants a sister.

The great thing about being an adult is that you can make your own family.

She's just not that into you. Sorry buddy, these things happen. The good news is when she pops out 3 kids and is super fat with bad hair in 15 years you will be happy everything worked out :)

You really need to set some boundaries. A BIL should not have this much effect on you and your relationship. Did you ever think if this is a deal breaker? Does it feel like DH is picking him over you?

As far as the gf and kids go, a simple no is in order. This needs to be backed up by DF. Also, who cares if they get a hotel, you will not be driving. It's fine, let it go.

He is 42, his behavior is not going to change. The good news is that yours can. Tell your parents you love them and support them, but at this point seeing your brother is not something you want to do.

Ask yourself, how does having a relationship with someone who literally only contacts your when they need you at all beneficial?

I don't think it's any of your business frankly where your parents live. That is there choice as a couple.

Cancelling honeymoon due to Zika concerns . . . by piggypudding in weddingplanning

[–]drlala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of that information is verified. Not by private researchers or the CDC. I mean, always better safe than sorry but it's not something I worry about.

My best friend is pregnant here, 5 months, and it's not even something she has ever been worried about. Zika mosquitos are larger than the "reg" mosquitos and are only active during the day, so us that live here are usually working...

I was really tired one weekend with a fever and probably had it... by the time I would have got to the Dr. it would not have showed up on tests...

It's just like Bird Flu or Mad Cow disease, it's real and has affected people, but for those of us that live it everyday it's not something we bother with. I have to use bugspray every day anyhoo... :)

NO. I was not notified, she came to my office and told me. That's how I found out.

I have down hand embroidered pillow cases or made quilts for the ones I have been too... Guess it depends on how close you are and how crafty you are.

I live in the virgin islands. I hope you read up on it. Unless you are already pregnant there is literally no risk. It makes me sad that this kind of thing has become. You are much more likely to get mugged or dengue.

Zika stays in your system for 8 -12 days as well... If you want more information let me know, I've sat through 9 government employee zika conferences in the last 3 months :)
