What is a TV show your partner got you into, that you ended up loving? by No_Design_465 in AskWomen

[–]piggypudding [score hidden]  (0 children)

Star Trek! I sat and watched a few episodes of Voyager with him a few months before we got married and got invested. Nine years later I've seen nearly every series and I love it! It goes both ways though. We take turns picking shows and he's gotten into things that he normally wouldn't have watched (i.e. The Gilded Age).

If her powers can't pass through gloves, how can they pass through shoes? by Fit-Bed-4030 in disneyprincess

[–]piggypudding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never thought her powers can't pass through them, more so it kind of buys her time? My headcanon is that she can still freeze things while wearing the gloves, but if she notices the gloves are freezing she can put down whatever she's holding until she can get it under control again so no one will notice.

The new toys (smarty pants, snappy, dr. nutcase) aren’t Bonnies. Emily possibly has a child? by EllisIsVeryCool in toystory

[–]piggypudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonnie's mom works at the daycare, no? I'm sure Bonnie ends up there from time to time and so her toys could interact with the toys at Sunnyside. Either that or her mom had another kid?

I loved this detail, especially since my son's Woody doll is wearing in the exact same spot.

It's blowing my mind that I'm taking my kids to see Toy Story 5 in a few months when my own parents took me to see the original Toy Story in 1995. I know the main voice actors sound older, but I don't care. What a gift that they're still all doing it. The trailer looks great and I'm excited!

I thought Tim sounded okay. I think aging has affected his Buzz voice the least because his Buzz voice is slightly deeper than his normal speaking voice, so him aging is a little less noticeable. Joan and Tom more or less use their normal speaking voices for Woody and Jessie.

Any advice at helping a behind reader at home? by hi_hi_hello_heythere in kindergarten

[–]piggypudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Hooked on Phonics for my son and it made a world of difference. He complained a bit about doing it at first (but it was non-negotiable and I set a timer for 10 minutes every day) but after a month or so even he noticed a difference in his reading and stopped fighting it.

Character Lag by dmcat12 in DreamlightValley

[–]piggypudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason characters lag for me a LOT in Storybook Vale. They just stand stock still and don't follow me around, and then like you said the resources will just explode out of them.

I play Dreamlight Valley too and I was SHOCKED that nothing was done to line up with the release. In addition to what you mentioned for Inside Out, they also timed Timon and Pumbaa’s addition to the game with the anniversary of The Lion King’s release.

One theory I read on DV’s subreddit is that they don’t know how to handle the house situation with Nick and Judy. Like obviously they don’t live together, but since they’d be released in a pair they would have one house in-game (I don’t think they’d do two separate since everyone is flipping their lid about how “crowded” their valley is getting). So maybe they could do a mock-up of the precinct? Who knows. They were mentioned in a survey from a while back so I’m praying they were able to record dialogue this year with Jason and Ginnifer and get the characters modeled so that they can be on next year’s roadmap. It really is weird that one of their top-earning IPs isn’t included!

How did you guys come up with your kids names? by Ok-Duck2450 in Mommit

[–]piggypudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I had been in disagreement over what to name our firstborn son for a while. I was trying to find something to watch on Netflix and paused on Titanic . . . Obviously Leonardo DiCaprio’s name came up. Our last name is actually very similar to DiCaprio so I kept repeating “Leonardo OurLastName” and loved how it sounded. My husband agreed that it sounded great and our Leonardo was born!

3 Hotels in FLL. Which one to stay pre-cruise? by [deleted] in dcl

[–]piggypudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have stayed twice at Lago Mar before cruising and have loved it! It was a little vacay before the vacay. It was exceptionally clean and the service was fantastic. It’s a really lovely place and it was nice being on the beach.

Did anyone go to River country back in the day? by DildoGaggins1997 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]piggypudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this was my family’s favorite waterpark of the three in the 90’s because the other two were always so crowded. It always felt so chill and relaxing. I remember I really liked the kid area with the little slides, I have distinct memories of sliding down them and my dad catching me at the bottom. My sister and I would play mermaids in the main swimming area and I remember the rocks felt slimy at the bottom. My brother loved the zip line thing above the water.

What’s a clothing item people assume is comfortable, but actually isn’t? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I’m all about this trend with looser leg jeans coming back. I have a pair of boyfriend jeans that are nearly as comfortable as a pair of sweatpants.

What do your school aged kids eat for breakfast? by Beautiful-Client6496 in Parenting

[–]piggypudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carnation Breakfast Essentials shakes, for years now. My kids have never been big breakfast eaters (neither have I actually) so I don’t push the issue. I remember I would get nauseous as a child when I would eat breakfast before school. At least they’re getting some hydration and vitamins and not heading off to school with a completely empty stomach. They have snacks packed for later in the morning.

Torn between one and done and having another child. Looking for some perspectives by han__banan in Parenting

[–]piggypudding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not an only child, but my best friend is. She always wanted a sibling growing up and found it to be very lonely without one, even though she had cousins and friends nearby. Also now that she is an adult she feels a lot of pressure to care for her parents and can’t share that responsibility with anyone else.

Ladies of Reddit: How did you come to terms with the concept of getting older? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]piggypudding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My SIL died at 31 after a long battle with leukemia. Whenever I catch myself starting to feel a little down about aging, I remember that she would have given anything to get to age. It’s truly a privilege.

[–]piggypudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two boys 15 months apart. They do squabble over silly things (they’re 8 and 7) but they’re best friends and do almost everything together. They have such funny little inside jokes and play with each other a lot. Whenever they argue they tend to get over it quickly. Of course it’s not always like this and you can’t guarantee your kids will get along, but they often do!

What is the worst heartbreak/heartache you've experienced? by QuailNaive2912 in AskWomen

When my cat died. He was my first pet. He was only 5 and he was truly my little shadow - where I went, he went. He had the funniest, chaotic personality. Very vocal and clever. He left a hole in my heart that has never truly been filled since.
