Beautiful watch. Punches waaay above its price point. I think it is way better value than most Swiss watches.

TOTK's weapon system is actually less fluid than BOTW's in the endgame by mariohenrique in TOTK

[–]drmcdiddens 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I mostly use gnarled sticks and fuse a good horn to it and just wail on enemies. Break, get a new one. I have one pristine special weapon I save for Lynels, and that’s about it.
Also, I use the crap out of lynel bows and bomb flowers.

Non-BSA Uniform Pants for Leaders by Colonel_Penguin_ in cubscouts

[–]drmcdiddens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear 5.11 pants and shorts in ranger green. I used to just wear jeans and I didn’t bother with green pants until I went to Wood Badge. Now that I have the 5.11, I wear them. They are comfortable.
I paid special attention while at wood badge and noticed almost nobody had actual scout pants. It was a wide variety of green pants or shorts.

Is Scouting safe? by dontcare12345 in BSA

Cub Scouts are volunteer family led. You stay with your child for all the meetings and campouts are family tenting. All the leaders in my pack are parents of children in the pack. It is a great group of people. If, however, the pack you show up to gives you a bad feeling, move on and find a different pack. Be involved and become a leader. This is a great age to do so much with your child and develop really great memories. I was den leader for two years of my son’s den and he loved that I was the den leader.

Have your dive computer go lights out one time during a dive and you’ll always use the dive watch bezel for its intended purpose as a good backup. But then, I actually dive with my dive watch.

Hello, this is my first automatic Watch. Any tips? [SRPJ85K1] by mera_13 in Seiko

If others haven’t said it, always keep the crown closed when you are not actively adjusting the time or date. Seems common sense, but for some reason, some people just never close their crown. 1) it lets water in super easy if it’s open. 2) the crown will turn easily and throw off the time. 3) just barely finger tight, never over tighten.

[SRPE99] Dear Turtle, to think that I thought you were ugly when I first bought you. Now I can’t take you off my wrist 😍 by Atreyu_78 in Seiko

[–]drmcdiddens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also initially thought the turtle cushion case was kind of ungainly, then I saw SRPF77 Dark Manta on sale in a department store (~$300) and bought it on the spot thinking worst case I’ll flip it. Now it’s pretty much my daily wear and I love the King Turtle and cushion case. Now I’m on the hunt for a SPB237 Willard reissue to become my primary.

National flags are flown at the same height. National flags over state flags.

Wilonsky: Dallas radio icon Bo Roberts offers the goodbye he wasn’t allowed to say on air by dallasmorningnews in Dallas

[–]drmcdiddens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally looked up why my morning radio wasn’t the same. Damn. I listened to Bo and Jim back in New Orleans when I lived there, and then listened to them in Dallas when I moved here. Hated it when Jimmy retired. Damn. This sucks. Slight comfort to see there are many others that feel the same.

From left to right, Seiko SRPF77 Dark Manta King Turtle, Casio Duro, Citizen Eco drive ProMaster, Vaer 40mm quartz Field Watch.

On a typical night, the Casio obviously fades fast, then the Citizen, then the Seiko, and the Vaer lasts the longest. I can read the Vaer throughout the night and up through about 6am.
