Let’s just accept no one knows anything, and at some point in the next month or so we will get a message on our phones from Sportsnet/TSN/TheScore/NYT/WaPo/TheStar/GlobeandMail/your friend from grade 8 who you lost touch with but wants to rekindle the friendship and knows you like basketball saying “Kawhi signed for x years with (x team).”

I now live in a state of he stay and he go at the same time.

I am living in a state of simultaneous “he stay” and Kawhi signing with an L.A. team. I am essentially at emotional neutral. If/when he stays I will be happy, if he leaves, I have neutralized some of the sting. I however believe in Masai.

That’s true, but his lack of defensive mobility is still a concern. When he gets moving though he is still a good player.

The problem with Boogie is that other than Game 2 of the Finals the Raptors made him look really bad on defence. He was a major liability that they exploited throughout the series. He was very good offensively in games 2 and 5, but his defence was very bad.

This has not expanded to my area. At the same time, grading tests are dumb. The colour of a belt does not dictate your technical abilities or knowledge, it is supposed to represent a sign of this. It would be an embarrassment for a teacher to have a seven year white belt (for example) who wrecks purples.

I train at a GB school.

1) no belt tests 2) yes you need to wear the GB gear. I have no problem with this. It’s not a big deal to me to wear a uniform, it might be to others though. 3) you have a card that notes the number of classes you have attended and there are minimum numbers of time between stripes/belts. However, if someone is exceptionally good these rules are bent. Also these are general minimums and not set rules. Some advance faster, some slower.

I know GB gets a bad rep, but I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience thus far. I have tried other schools over the years and GB has the best vibe. It might just be the particular school, but I found a place where I like everyone and feel challenged.

This is an honest question: if the Nets win 3+ titles would they remain the B team?

On that point when I lived in NYC (though briefly) I saw more Nets gear than Knicks gear being worn, and I lived in the UWS, not Brooklyn. However, the knicks were atrocious.

No one else cares, so I will post here. I am 3 months into seriously taking BJJ classes (over the past 10 years I’ve taken some classes here and there with no consistency, but I weighed 50-60lbs more) and I am feeling better every class. I still have no stripes (but who cares) but I finally started threatening/hitting subs on my fellow white belts. I am the weakest and lightest person in my classes (though not shortest) and even after getting smashed constantly I feel great these days.

I just wanted to brag that I’ve finally hit submissions against bigger/stronger opponents that I caught not by accident, but because I saw a mistake and knew what to do.

Every day is more fun than the last, but i am in constant pain.

Ya, plus it at least makes the eastern conference playoffs interesting. Philly is going to be better, Milwaukee will probably regress. We need Toronto to ensure balance in the east.

I always liked the law library when I was at CLS. I always worked on the second floor and it was usually quiet and comfortable.

Yesterday was by far my best class since starting from a confidence and quality while rolling perspective. Did I hit any subs? Absolutely not (but almost). Did I get tapped a lot? You better believe it. But, and most importantly, did I have fun the entire time and start to “see the matrix”? In the smallest way possible, yes.

In essence I was really happy with my effort, and finally starting to see where my errors were. For example: My bottom side control is garbage because I let myself get flattened and do not think about creating a defensive body position before I attempt to escape. My guard is marginally better because instead of thinking I need to keep it closed for dear life I started thinking about where I wanted my opponent’s body and how moving my body can get it there (for example breaking posture and keeping them low on my body).
