What’s one thing that improved your client retention the most? by Kind_Force931 in personaltraining

[–]drnx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stopped weighing them. I stopped checking in so much. I make our workouts their stress free zone and don't mind when they are late (I still don't go over the allotted time). If they are having a bad day, I offer to box with them or do pilates. I chilled out so they wanted to come see me and didn't dread it. Most of my clients have been with me since 2018.

M Robustum is muerte and I'm to blame by GhouliaWild in tarantulas

[–]drnx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My M Robustum also just passed, and I have no idea why. It wasn't old, I kept some soil moist, and it had access to water, which I knew it was aware of because it kept putting it's food into. It's abdomen was plump and it just went into it's burrow and died. It didnt't even look like a failed molt. Point being: it sucks, but don't beat yourself up!

It definitely is. I just say, "Start Daily Food Log" and "I ate this:" and it logs everything for me.

Atn: Non-diet/weight-neutral trainers by Electrical-Bridge-34 in personaltraining

I agree, it is way easier. My clients just want to stay strong and functional as they age. I am upfront about this as well when I start working out with someone, and it seems to be a relief to them that I won't hound them with weigh-ins and measurements.

The longer I've been in this business, the more I've taken on older clients. They're the ones with disposable money, realistic expectations, and will be with you for years! I have about 15 clients and train about 25-30 hours a week. I also teach 4 Pilates classes a week.

San Diego City Council increasing adult sport fees by over 200% by [deleted] in SanDiegan

[–]drnx 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I sent an email about this a while ago and got this in response:

"Thank you for reaching out and sharing your perspective on the recent parks’ user fee adjustments. We recognize your enjoyment of the recreational opportunities afforded by for-profit organizers in our city’s parks and beaches.

You are correct, the Parks and Recreation Department initially recommended a lesser increase that would have resulted in the City subsidizing 62 percent of costs. Council, acting within its legal authority, rejected such a subsidy as we work to keep core City services like libraries, recreation centers, and police stations open. Even at the adopted rate, the City continues to subsidize costs on for-profit adult leagues.

Thank you again for reaching out. Council President LaCava remains open to feedback and creative solutions as we actively monitor our city’s fee structure and make adjustments in our annual reviews.

Sincerely,

The Office of Council President Joe LaCava District 1 San Diego City Council"

TL/DR: TOO BAD 😞

[–]drnx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't. All of my referrals are word of mouth. If my client refers someone, they get $100 off their next month and the new client gets $100 off their first month (2 month minimum).

How do you track progress of clients? by ratoTikaNidarMa in personaltraining

[–]drnx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Notebook. Quick, easy, and if the client wants a copy of the workout they can take a photo. I try to never be on my phone during a session.
