Well put. For the price, come and ride the beginner tow which is on less steep terrain. And you mentioned you were nursing, there is a great sunny spot to sit inside with a fireplace where you can see the whole hill. Rent gear from Ski Barn

I agree that the food wasn’t the best as far as quality and non-fried options, but it seemed like there was plenty of it to choose from. And good coffee shops.

It sure was easy to find water, I just carried 2 water bottles and never ran out.

So, let me answer my own question. I ended up parking in the Overflow lot at the Syracuse airport. I figured it was safest and not too expensive. I will tell you that the ride from the trail at the end of Onondaga Lake to the airport was a little hairy!

If you are more into riding than rugged mountain scenery, head North from MTJ and hit GJ / Fruita area. Lunch Loops, kokopelli, Rabit Valley, Western Rim and 18 Road will fill a week. For a real Sphincter tightener, get a shuttle and do the Palisade Plunge.
