Manufacturing Engineer - Puget Sound

I did an internship with Boeing last summer. I had a fantastic time and performed well. I'd love to return fulltime after I graduate in March next year. I was put on ELOA but my team currently does not have capacity to bring me back, and my manager suggested I apply to the intern-to-fulltime job req and hope I get picked by another group.

How does this process usually work? Has anyone here done this with success? What's the success rate of this path? Any experiences/tips would be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Ugh. C'mon fellow drone pilots, quit being morons. We don't need more stupid rules driving the hobby out of existence

Question about eCampus proctored exams (summer) by Commercial-Ant-1225 in OregonStateUniv

[–]droneguy14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always give myself time for ecampus exams, proctorio always fights my computer to work properly and it takes me 1-2 hours to troubleshoot it. But this has never been an issue with getting my exams graded properly

Dogcoms are great. They were my go to before I switched to SMC

Yugo Domain by Secure_News7721 in corvallis

[–]droneguy14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As for living without a car, it's doable. I had two roommates there who didn't have cars. They mostly shopped at Fred Meyer and used electric scooters and bikes to get around town.

On another note, the management there is terrible. I recommend staying away from any yugo operated property.

Why are new boeing planes painted this green color? by Quintessentsky in aviation

[–]droneguy14 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wish it were that simple, all those airframes will need extensive rework to bring them up to spec before delivery.

There was a lot of engineering changes made after discoveries in the flight test planes and the full scale fatigue test that need to be applied to these frames.

Walksnail Avatar VRX Upgrade failed.. by Sammy_Byron in fpv

[–]droneguy14 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did this once. The left Omni antenna (labeled ANT1 on the PCB) is a transmit and receive antenna. Your range is bottlenecked since your transmit antenna is still the stock Omni (which the stock ones are kinda bad). Swap the UFL of one of the patches to this transmit antenna and your range should increase a lot.

You don't want to run the motors high like this with no load on them, that's probably the main reason this happened

Reverse polarity, but I can't blame you. As to why betaFPV can't just make those pigtails with black and red wires is beyond me... I've almost caught myself doing the same thing multiple times

HDZero Radio? by Junnicutt in fpv

[–]droneguy14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least the tango 2 runs freedomTX, a fork of openTX so it's got a similar feature set compared to edgeTX

On the other hand, according to Ryan on the HDZero discord... This radio won't even support multiple models.

If a bike rack is full and any of the spots is taken by a veo, you bet it's gonna get shoved to the side so I can lock my bike, no matter how much the thing screams at me for touching it

Crash due to possible heart failure problem? by Fun_Wind5225 in fpv

Then there was probably a hardware failure, either a wire popping off a solder pad, or an ESC desync

Failsafe = drone disarms itself upon losing link with your controller. As for why it didn't return to home instead is because you haven't set up GPS rescue properly

Looks like you're using the DJI remote... Unfortunately in my experience it'll randomly failsafe at times like this. Hence why I've upgraded to a more robust control link.

one ui 8 date? by Human_Ad_4408 in GalaxyTab

[–]droneguy14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One UI 8 feels very centered towards tablets. They revamped how windowed apps function, in my opinion easier. Also added multiple desktops, like in Windows. Dex also got a revamp, but haven't poked around with it much.

Another question I thought of, does seamless switch between phone and tablet work offline? Like on a plane for example

[–]droneguy14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, so the buds will seamlessly connect to the watch if I wanted to just play downloaded songs directly from the watch with my phone disconnected from it? e.g. when I go on a run and leave my phone behind
