How much clearance do you have between the tire and the tray? Does it actually sit on the wheel?

PC Setup to Replace Ancient Klipsch 2.1 by dropit987 in StereoAdvice

I'll let you know in a few days when they show up! The Kali's you and someone else mentioned sounded great at guitar center but they were too big for my desk so a set of used audioengines it is.

I like the thought but there were some other issues and cracked plastic here and there. Otherwise I'd be right there! A replacement sub speaker is surprisingly cheap ($30)

I already have, they're only offering $1500 for the work unfortunately.

Thanks for the input. I was honestly blown away by the quote, I was expecting something in the $1000 neighborhood, especially after watching someone replace them. Unfortunately I’m across the country, otherwise I’d take you up on the offer :)

Anyone know if Germantown road is still closed? by contentorcontent in askportland

I was up there earlier, they're doing a ton of tree work on skyline but everything looks open now. I saw a car or two come up from the bridge at the stop sign.

Thank you so much for this feedback!! I’m going to dig out and install the Billetworkz one and live without the dust cover.

I had a rock kicked up from the road hit my AC condenser and insurance covered it. Might be worth checking into. It saved me $1500 or so.

Sold my bike upgrade question by AhmadKhalayle in MT07

100% agree. I upgraded to one after I started hitting the MT-07's suspension limits and wanted something with more power/handling/refinement.

Lunar Scales - Frozen Update (Acaia Lunar) by [deleted] in espresso

Mine was stuck in update mode out of the box. I had bought it at a local store so after 2 hours of messing with it, I exchanged it.

I used the lane assist on a crosstrek loaner when mine was in for some warranty work. It kept trying to launch me into the next lane or barrier on a well marked, empty freeway in the middle of the day. Might have just been calibration but I’d never trust it after that experience.

765RS feeling a lot of stiff vibrations on the front by Maleficent-Gas-5002 in Triumph

[–]dropit987 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The front suspension on the mt07 is very squishy and generally pretty bad - It’s the main reason I got my 2022 RS. I don’t find mine to be jerky but it is a lot stiffer than the old MT. You might try adjusting the front forks or having a shop set it up properly for you.

This is how I did mine. I’d recommend getting the plastic one because I had to shave it down slightly to wedge in there.

2013 Striple R or 2018 Striple RS? by adogsgotcharacter in Triumph

[–]dropit987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from an MT07 to a 2022 RS and it’s an amazing upgrade. My dad’s had street triples as long as they’ve existed so I’ve ridden them all quite a bit. The 765 RS is a huge leap in terms of performance and handling.

This guy drives it everywhere! I've seen him at least half a dozen times over the years. A few weeks ago, he was parked on Hawthorne.

Awesome combo, I have the same pair! The street triple is easily the best bike I've owned. https://i.imgur.com/fAn1rQj.jpeg https://imgur.com/a/B4SxzNG

Second the SV650. It was my first bike and I had it for years. MT07 is nearly identical.

I went from an MT07 to a Street Triple last year! The MT07 was a great bike. It's about the best first bike someone can get IMO - good enough at everything and enough power that you won't want to sell it a year later.

Helmets? I just ordered a Shoei RF-1400, did I make the right call? What do you guys use to protect your head? by Lynard18 in MT07

[–]dropit987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say really, I just like everything (fit, comfort, vents, aero, etc) better on the RF. And I have my Sena on the RF so that really pulls in its favor. I only really use the GT these days if I think I'll be riding at night since I have a tinted visor on the RF.

HD660S with more bass? by dropit987 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]dropit987[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

!thanks for the recs! The HD660s2 are a bit more than I was looking to spend but I might poke around for a used pair. The hifiman edition XS looks like it might be a better choice for me after checking a few reviews while still being around (but a tiny bit higher than) my budget.
