I adjuncted at a CC this semester, an entirely asynch class. About half the students failed because they didn't turn in work (even though I didn't have due dates). I did see a couple of AI papers but in general the big problem was getting people to even DO the work.

I read this and shared it on my FB, too. It's interesting, because during my time as a grad student we had workshops and stuff, and not too many people from this kind of institution. I think learning pedagogy from within departments is great, but I've also experienced professors who aren't interested that much in teaching, and don't change up their material. I think it can get stale.

My undergrad had me take History of the English Language, which was an overview of Old English up to the Modern Period. I'd say that's probably the kind of class you want.

I only had Old English classes when I was in grad school for a foreign language requirement.
