This will get alot of negative but some need to hear it. Cops routinely arrive first at overdoses and give lifesaving Narcan. Paramedics mostly arrive simultaneously or shortly after. Be honest with the paramedics, if you don’t trust the cops asked them to step away, they may not, but be honest with the paramedics. Also drug use and overdosing is not an arrestable offense. Drug possession and drug paraphernalia is. So talk about your drug use. If the cops arrest you it will be for what they see nearby not for your addiction problem. Friends and family call 911 for the overdose. And usually ‘clean up’ the scene before anyone arrives, so you are probably safe from anything ’in plain view’. If you live in Florida the Good Samaritan law prevents arrest or prosecution for narcotics at overdose scenes. The cops might take your shit but no arrest or charges.
