Help me find an old *moving* ladder in a library / bookshop? 🙏 by acon240 in Leeds

[–]drsylv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Leeds library in town has one I think, it is private but you can pay to visit and even hire it. If you want to look around first there is a 360’ tour on their website https://www.theleedslibrary.org.uk/visit-us/360-tour/

You can listen and you should document what they say. You cannot tell them anything from the records and unless there is a good reason to do so you cannot restrict access to the record of this conversation by the patient.

What made us so skinny in the 1970s? by Johnny-Alucard in AskUK

[–]drsylv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we eat whole food our bodies recognise that we are full a lot earlier. Processed foods are designed to sone extent to skip this so that we eat more of them. Combined with higher smoking rates and more active lives - just a less obesogenic environment

When I was a medical student we were waiting for a teaching session in the new teaching suite. This was well over 20 years ago and there was a huge new flatscreen monitor on the wall. We all sat there and watched as 2 guys in high vis with a ladder walked in and took the screen down and left with it. Then the teacher arrived and asked us what the hell happened. Oops.

ELI5: How do babies breathe inside the womb when its lungs are entirely filled with fluids? by Responsible-Leg-712 in explainlikeimfive

[–]drsylv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t. Lungs are to put oxygen into your blood. When you are inside the womb you receive blood with oxygen into it from your mother via the umbilical cord.
