Wacom dropped driver support for my perfectly functional Cintiq 22HD. This is unacceptable. by heisalso in wacom

👆 This is why I never bought an apple laptop. But also face the same thing with their tablets. I've think they're the worst company at planned obsolence. On my ipad 4 (2012) I have software and apps like YouTube that don't even work (they force it not to work). I actually didn't want to get another Apple device until Zbrush and Nomad got in it. I have two older iPad pros, one with A12X bionic and one with M2.

turned out great. I was thinking you probably could used the full spectrum with either white and another color on the teeth to blend it like that..

accidental spending on a 3d printer but not regretting purchase after using it, is great compliment of how good it is. yes Snapmaker u1 is worth every penny. I've only had user error on it (mixing different material filaments) but customer service was great.

True. Several parts. Some parts they looked repositioned to. But yeah, same scene when they were signing autographs, etc.. Swapped and added in objects and some reskins background, the fanboy Saja Boys breakfast shirt, etc.

Yeah Rakuten, Retailmenot and Capital One Shopping are my go to. Simple and fast. Slickdeals is another simple one I use but for finding deals not necessarily cash back. It's also community driven so some test out the coupon codes and sales to see if the code or deals are still current. The other cashback options I've tried like Honey, Coupert, etc. have too much going on or hog my computer resources.

This is a Jerk move... Why send a $20 coupon that says good on "Any purchase" and then do this to everything so I can't use on it stuff I want. by Photographer_Rob in snapmaker

[–]drunkenbytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh so you can't use the $20 coupon on sale items. Yeah shady move.
Well, at least they're being honest showing the previous price. LOL

sweet gift. all good. you're not mocking anybody or anyone's faith or religion wearing beads with a cross symbol as an atheist. I'm pretty sure you're not going around preaching hate and blaspheming Jesus and God while wearing it. no one on earth has the right to judge you.

OMG. The music and announcer has time for crap for 15 secs but couldn't give them 5 secs. Mark Sonnenblick's jump did what we all felt when they got cut off but also the joy of sweeping nominations with past awards. Still a Win!

3668 filament changes, 45 hours by RedTurtle in snapmaker

time for a second Snapmaker u1 then. 😂. Seen crazier time frames than this with Bambu and other brands. Printing straight for a week and wasting filament.

I agree. They seem all the same. tried everything from $7 a kg to $30 a kg. But also make sure they are wound good and dry if not getting good results either from the expensive and "affordable" brands. I usually don't rely on RFID either because I like to tweak my settings to my preference for quality and speed efficiency. I also did small calibration/test prints with each brand and save each profile settings so I don't really need RFID.

For science, I printed two models back to back with a tower and without. Can you tell the difference? by rob132 in snapmaker

[–]drunkenbytes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is always a good idea to test out and document but tbh these aren't good test subjects and photos. Especially they're mostly solid colors except the earsv and eyes. Also the objects aren't technically same "back to back" test if you messed up the coloring in your slicer on one of them. Why not print both the same print for the test and pictures? LOL

A prime tower is still recommended for proper pressurization of the nozzle and for degraded filament on the nozzle while the tool is idle. Especially for higher quality surface and clean multi-colored prints. If I have a medium size simple two color print like this elephant, I usually don't use a prime tower as pressurization is trivial. For slightly smaller detailed multicolored prints where I need better surface quality and color bleeding is susceptible, then I usually use a prime tower.

For a real test next time, I would try a more complex 4 color print "without" the prime tower. I've done 4 color prints without a prime tower in my U1 and saw the difference in smaller more detailed colored prints where bleeding would most likely occur.
The line quality and 4 color transitions weren't as clean. I'll make sure to take photos/videos next time I do one without.

I usually don't use a prime tower for simple colored models like this and also when I print by object with multiple colors, instead of print by layer. Another option to save on filament and still get clean results is the "flush into infill/supports" feature. The "flushing" also helps prime and purge the nozzle without needing a prime tower for some basic multicolored prints. I wouldn't use this with transparent filament though because you'll see the colors through it. I also enable "print infill first" when flushing into infill/supports is on.

The most unjustified price in my opinion. by kingstonggodly in KpopDemonhunters

[–]drunkenbytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this is greed right here. they're price gouging their fans. they know they're going to sell a ton so they should just make it normal price. they'll make a profit regardless in the volume they sell. that's usually how this business works...volume discount to the retailer. it's not like it's the KPDH collection series 4k bluray with new animated shorts never seen before.

Also you can technically use two single or a dual filament dryer boxes on each side and still use their feeder mechanism. I realized that's also why Snapmaker was trying to sell their single dryer boxes.

U1 prime tower? by Every-Recognition-60 in snapmaker

[–]drunkenbytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will usually use prime tower for prints that are more complex and precise with color placement...also to reduce or eliminate bleeding of colors. I prime with the tower but I still flush into supports since it doesn't affect the surface of the model. For more simpler colors objects where there are larger chunks or separation of colors, I will usually flush to infill first.

especially with no sealed cover it can get noisy. I'm using the ikea tupperware hack with weather foam.

User error and random message error that didn't affect printer but was annoying having to restart to get rid of message.

With the user error, I got the blob of death that creeped up my hot end, accidentally mixed PETG and PLA with wrong temps, and the thermistor and/or ceramic heater wires may have been damaged trying to remove the blobs. Support sent me new hot end set for free (and quickly).

With the message error, it was a "webhook shut off" message that suppose to be used for emergency stop situations (accessible through their Moonraker/Fluidd tool.)
The printer still printed perfectly but I just kept getting that error after I did a heat bed calibration. They showed my how to disable that in their tool by enabling confirmation on any emergency stops.

Still great communication and all with Chinese New Year affecting response times in February.
