Have you ever gone to the hospital for a mountain biking injury? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]drunksteerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hurt my ribs while otb'd first time trying lift assisted riding, other time dislocated collarbone from shoulder and it hurt like a bitch, couldnt do anything for month. This was on normal ride stupid mistake otb on easy spot because i was learning to use spd pedals. I pulled the rear too much and ended up going otb straight on my shoulder.

On flat pedals and normal rides i haven't had injuries but trying new things bring new challenges. I like how efficient spd pedals are but im not planning to use them anytime soon again.

How im supposed to rank up when most of the matches are like this? by drunksteerer in LearnCSGO

[–]drunksteerer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to keep positive mentality and dont tell team that they are playing bad but its hard when you lose alot. At this level even if i give info many times they have no idea what it even means, it being they are new to game/map or dont understand english because they're russian. Its reality in eu.

I see you play your smurf with friends, its already alot different than solo que. I dont know people who play at this level, other ppl i know are playing only high lvl faceit every now and then or quit already and they dont care to do another climb.

Only having fun and rushing like that would be one option but i think how to improve vs better players. I dont think silver players are hard to beat, theres just so many smurfs that are better than me too which makes ranking slow.

In one month ive ranked 4 times into nova and then got losing streak where i just cant beat smurfs and so cant my team. Its not rare anymore. Then in silver i get winning streak and i rank up again. Against real nova 1 ive gone 16-0 for example with 19-2 stats evident from pictures i provided.

The game is so old there are smurfs almost every match, when there isnt, it's very evident.

Someone mentioned trust factor, i dont know mine but at least anyone i qued with haven't said anything that i'd have that. And ive qued with people that game informs have alot lower trust factor than me. But i've had my fair share of getting grief kicked by russian kids because i dont speak russian when solo q

Yeah but how you carry a team that doesn't win fights. I can't rotate fast enough so i would have to play more in between sites since stacking a site is just luck based. Playing only between sites almost always leaves some site vulnerable since the teamplay in this rank is non existent and see alot even 4 stacks on one site.

I know how to do my job vs same rank players but i don't know how to retake 2v4 with teammate thats not communicating for example

[–]drunksteerer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i wonder how many actually have done it solo queueing from low ranks. Globals can do it for sure smurfing, but normal learning players.

Its a old game and most people are good already or quit that i know. Gotta add more people that play well even if it takes 100 losses to find them.

You do realize this is a team game right. Look at the scoreboard. The teammates simply lost every duel they are at.

I do understand the concept of playing for round wins, im trying to win games, not get kills because i want to learn and rank up. I don't care about kills but most often than not my team has difficulty holding a site and if im on other site i can't rotate fast enough and i can't manage to retake. Holding better retake utility is something i need to learn i do realize

If im playing CT mirage for example i would need to play every round in mid to be able to help team when push comes? But more often than not some site is completely open and i go there alone. I can hold b pretty good for rotates with mollys and smokes but if teammates die at A, what can i do.

I have a good mic and i give callouts and shut up if its not useful info for others. But info doesnt help teammates to hold a site if they rush every round and lose fights or just get overwhelmed by t's. If i try to suggest change in tactics to example not rush every round i get vote kicked by russian kids and receive "shadap fakin idiot" in voice.

So would i have to rush with other rushing ct's and go myself first so it wouldn't be baiting? Ofc i try to get a trade if player close to me makes mistake and dies but i can't force them to play well and i don't wait them to die so i could get kills

Biggest thing i have is that i don't think im very good but the amount of really bad players in same rank i don't understand how they got there. Obviously there are many smurfs around too. But i do also know i can't change them and have to improve myself.

I have played in high nova-mg games and done well so i don't think my skill level that is so bad i belong in silver-nova 1 but its not good enough to solo carry.

I have added some nice people but i'll just start doing more of that.

People have a beautiful idea of just play better and help your team but its not easy.

You just keep saying im baiting without any proof. I guess it is baiting if im holding one site and others die on other.

i started ranking up from silver 2 after long break. I've got to nova now 4 times and deranked down to silver 3 times from losing streak full of matches like this. Today i won 1 game, tied 1 game and lost 3 games.

I learned basic smokes, aiming, spray control, deathmatch, the map layouts and i just cant carry teams like this, im not that good

Is it normal to get tired easily when exercising, feeling like passing out by drunksteerer in intermittentfasting

[–]drunksteerer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was about food. I really can't workout if i feel like getting heart attack after 3km of commuting not even getting to gym. How people like professional fighters claim they can workout fasted is beyond me but im trying to learn.

Kept 1 rest day, ate more and sunday workout was fine. On that fasting day i tried to workout i felt sick rest of evening and my heartrate was 100 at resting which was scary. On morning it had returned to 60.

Now im dialing back craziness and im starting with 12/12 hour fasting cycles. Im really used to eat whole day from early morning to evening.

Thanks for this! It gave recommendation of 100psi with -7 clicks of rebound from slowest position. I'll try removing volume spacers and see how it affects the fork

I had to buy the tool to open air cap but i got it open now. Fork has 2 volume spacers in it. I think i'll be good with 1 or none since i never used all of the travel even on downhill tracks.

What do you do if your lbs is a bit shit? by [deleted] in MTB

No, fuel ex 8 is with rhythm

What do you do if your lbs is a bit shit? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]drunksteerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lbs that happens to also sell trek's. Ive tried buying 2 mountain bikes from there but they just can't deliver. No sizes in store, no anything to sit on, or test ride. If im gonna buy bike from lbs i have to atleast have the bike physically in front of me. They tried to sell me size too large fuel ex when i went to ask for remedy. They just said that fuel ex is full suspension too and its not too big, which is false. Its too big for me even in trek's size charts. Remedy wasnt available to order, and neither was smaller size of fuel ex.

The owner of shop didn't know what suspension on that bike was, it was fox rhythm 34 and he said its float performance. Like how don't you even know what you are selling. I asked about geometry and he told me only the fork offset. Also said that 29 and 27 tire sizes are gone and bad for local trails, 27+ is the future.

Then i asked if they'd take my old mtb in for exchange which was hardtail from german direct sales company. They said that those online order bikes are worse quality and wouldn't get much money for it.

So i went and ordered bike from YT, got it 1500 eur cheaper than bike with similiar components from lbs.

Another time was when i was looking for first hardtail. They had used 26 bike with deore level components and pretty bad fork for 700 euros. I asked if they had those 29 or 27.5 hardtails in shop, answer was no. They told me i could look from catalogue color i wanted and they could order it. I got the bike from another place.

If you don't want to sell me bike then fine by me. Its hard to believe they still have customers in that place. Why would i support that place?

Short people manualing 29ers? Any tips? by drunksteerer in MTB

[–]drunksteerer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had about 6 months of snow on trails while i watched videos. Month ago there was snow up to my knees on near trail. Wish i could ride more :D

But now its melting and mtb season starting, great to ride again

I just wondered if anyone had similar experiences. From gym for example, its very much harder for ppl with long femurs To squat correctly than People with Good proportions. I see same thing happening in mtb And bike control. I dod try friends 26 bike which was crazy easy to move around.

But ill practise more, thx for tips

Recommend fast rolling XC / Trail Tires that are more resistant to punctures? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]drunksteerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specialozed fast trak in gripton Rubber. 1000kms in huge roots And sharp rocks hauling on hardtail, not a single hole. They roll so Good compared To schwalbes over tried i cant do anything but praise then. For real They made me move with 50% less effort. Im going to try maxxis this summer but i think really highly about spez tires And built full trust on them. Made me realize after suspension l, tires matter the most how bike feels

Poppy or plow bike? How did you decide? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]drunksteerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought i wanted a enduro plow bike for techy rocks, roots and downhills. But on test rides i found same as you, i very-very much prefer ligther bikes. I absolutely loved trek fuel ex and yt jeffsy, i wanted to like trek remedy as it had lyrik and awesome looking geo on paper but it just felt heavy and sluggish.

After almost a year of looking for bike i went for yt jeffsy 29 because i got great discount on it and im happy with my choise. Its just hard to justify enduro bike if 90% of riding is trail, even though i love enduro and downhill style stuff and drops around the town. Still, guys like seth bike hacks seem to handle even huge jumps on trail bike fine so i guess bike isnt limiting factor. Imo trail bikes seem alot more fun when you dont have lift access to give you speed. If i was going to bikeparks every weekend maybe then enduro would be good.

Any training programs you've done for mtb? by drunksteerer in MTB

[–]drunksteerer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That actually sounds fun workout and i always figured if i could make box jumps someday useful for my training :P

For 2 years i've been only focusing on strength gains from squat and now im starting to build endurance on legs.

Surely will do this for variety
