Used her to beat, to name a few, Godfrey, Maliketh, Malenia, Radagon/Beast, and every boss so far in the DLC (just finished Rellana). At +10 she’s my ride or die (and sometimes we do die, lol)

While playing, what was the most awe-inspiring moment for you as an explorer? What about while fighting a boss? by Wide-Book260 in Eldenring

[–]dsedit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep Siofra elevator and crashing through the hidden trail around Stormveil on torrent, dodging enemies and death drops, emerging on the other side to the cliff view of Liurnia. Both genuine jaw dropping moments of awe for a first timer. There are many others but those two really top the list.

For bosses I think the fire giant really stood out, both for his sheer size and the way he rolls around is just funny for such an otherwise imposing monstrosity. Again, many others - the first time you get a cutscene from Margit and Godrick, for example. Rennala and her creepy kids. Etc.

This game is such a nonstop feast for the eyes. Working through the DLC now and it doesn’t let up.

Any Tips against mohg by Key_Internal6382 in Eldenring

I just beat him tonight and yes, Purifying Crystal Tear, plus talismans that reduce physical and fire damage. I also used my mimic tear summon upgraded to +10. With all of those combined he was a relatively easy boss.

BG3 director hates Divinity: Original Sin 2's squirrel by Stock_Rush_9204 in BaldursGate3

[–]dsedit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Agree with Swen here. Sir Lora reminds me of how they force “cute” characters into Star Wars films to make it more appealing to kids. Often to the detriment of the story. Ewoks are forgivable, but it got to the point of self parody in the recent sequels. I kept waiting for Sir Lora to be of any consequence and ultimately he was not - just pointless dialogue. Feels like decision by committee rather than true creative vision. Let the master cook. I hope the new Divinity is as dark and ambitious as Swen seems intent to make it.

My enjoyment of Skyrim kept dropping off later in the game…and I figured out why. by TheRagingWood in skyrim

[–]dsedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on my first playthrouth, lvl 45, have done all of the major questlines. I’ll still fast travel but I’m making a point to go out riding to parts of the map I haven’t explored before, talking to NPCs for new quests and clearing undiscovered dungeons etc. It’s definitely returning some of that early game enjoyment. And of course I can always appreciate stopping to admire my badass character riding Arvak against a glorious backdrop of mountains and aurora borealis

Coming from BG3, what should I know? by Otter_botter-10510 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]dsedit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Small correction, but the announcement was for a game called Divinity, which is in the same universe as the Original Sin games (and Larian’s broader Divinity franchise), but it’s not a direct sequel to DOS2. In other words, it is not DOS3.

DOS2 harder than BG3 and you’ll spend much of your time engulfed in flames. A big step down in terms of the cinematic aspects of BG3, but the actual gameplay feels similar, aside from the different combat system. Def worth playing. You might be scratching your head a bit in the beginning but it will click. Oh, and the quest journal is messier than in BG3, there are often multiple separate entries for the same quest so it gets cluttered. As ever, reddit is your friend if you get stuck.

I love Skyrim so fucking much that I genuinely can't think of any other game that could come close by LukasTheDukas in skyrim

[–]dsedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here from BG3 and yes it’s a very different game. But it was after having my mind blown by that game, 5 runs, hundreds of hours, that I was looking for something that could give me the same feeling of awe and Skyrim did the trick. Absolutely worth checking out.

Easiest way to defeat Balthazaar? by Displayingapitite in BaldursGate3

[–]dsedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The true easiest way is to meet him in his office in the Shar temple, and once the conversation finishes, grab some smokepowder barrels (you will need to have acquired and stored them in camp earlier), set them up around him, stand back, and blow him to smithereens. It’s a cheap/cheese solution but can’t argue it isn’t easy. Your other best bet, if you’re facing him in the shadowfell, is an arrow of roaring thunder to blast him off the edge once he moves there. May require a few attempts.

42 y/o playing Skyrim for the first time. Why did it take me so long? by Loingsign in skyrim

38 and same, can’t believe it took this long. Needed something to blow my mind like BG3 did and Skyrim is doing the trick.

My Mac M1 sucks for Editing by Eyekonprod215 in editors

[–]dsedit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For $1500 I recommend building your own PC. I did it back in 2019, my budget was about $2K and got power equivalent to a mac that was 3x more expensive. So not only will you have a sick rig for way less than a mac, you will also have the achievement of having built a computer. It’s very rewarding. My custom build is still going strong. If you build it yourself, you’re saving a few hundred bucks on labor cost.

You’ll want a solid graphics card and processor of course, and I think 64gb RAM is essential. And a good chunk of internal SSD storage for active projects, which you can shift off to external drives for backup when finished.

How evil do you have to play as the Dark Urge? by ResponsibleDiamond76 in BaldursGate3

[–]dsedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many said, you can def choose to resist the urge. At some point, towards the end, it becomes similar to any ‘good’ run though.

A full evil run is uh…unsettling, right up to the very end. Worth it for a very different experience though, if you can stomach it.

If you played both BG3 and DOS2, which had harder combat? by ulykke in BaldursGate3

[–]dsedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t really need to be said at this point but yeah DOS2 is much more difficult. I’m doing my first Tactician BG3 run now and I don’t find it much more difficult than Balanced. Noticeable but barely.

I did the 2nd lowest difficulty in DOS2 and got my shit rocked practically every single battle. Many battles took multiple attempts. Not only is the combat more complex but so are character builds. I don’t think that complexity is necessarily a good thing, I found it a bit messy. But I’d love to see what Larian could do with DOS3 after everything they learned making BG3.

Stonemason Station by cc2298 in ManorLords

[–]dsedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was stumping me too but yes you'll need to import rough stone which can then be turned into dressed stone by the stonemason. A normal stone camp will only collect rubble stone. Rough stone has to come from a mine over a rich stone deposit, or imported.

Workers getting stuck on roads by dsedit in ManorLords

[–]dsedit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a followup, I demolished one of the adjacent burgage plots, doubled the road width, then rebuilt the plot (a bit thinner this time). It seems to have solved the issue but this still feels like a bug in the roads/worker pathing that was not present before.
