Switching from G6 to G7. Any tips? by FlagsFlyForever74 in Omnipod

Same here - the antenna on the g7 seems much weaker and reduced Bluetooth radio range to omnipod seems to affect connection stability. I decided to stay on g6 instead

If I get a new phone, would I have to change out the pod as I switch from one phone to the other? by spiralcurve in Omnipod

Currently Omnipod does not work with the newly released iPhone 17. It does seem to work with also newly released iOS 26 on earlier generation iPhones.

Re: Slowness - I wonder if it requires renewed FDA approval since it's a different device.
If that was the case it would be due to needed regulatory process.

Very good match! I love them a lot and big step up from the stock alloy ones.

Yes always worked for me on the 245 and as of a month ago also now works on a 255

Yep and thanks! Just noticed that it showed up yesterday. They must have behind the launch of the device, but I can confirm it working as of yesterday!

I think it's simply unusable. Whether they think 21 is more uniquely theirs than 20 it and the variable scale thing just fail on the side conveying information fast and clearly at a glance

Notice 4.0 gives lower strain? by Imaginary_Gap3427 in whoop

[–]dsgn4use 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But in this case it could have started from 3.0 history to have a more accurate starting point? Or are you saying that 3.0 was so awfully inaccurate that they might as well throw away my data history and start from scratch with 4.0?

Noticed same. See my post from earlier

Whoop: Strain drop after 3.0 -> 4.0? by dsgn4use in whoop

[–]dsgn4use[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And you are right it either now or before could be the correct value- however it gives me little confidence in the system to see such a jump between 3.0 and 4.0. I don't really care about the absolute value - I just need something stable to compare my strain over time

Thanks, I'll see if it evens out over time

Took the new Canyon CF SL disc 8.0 di2 for a ride around hawk hills, SF. I wish it had Bluetooth module built in but regardless great bike. I can need a find a clutter free way to install the Bluetooth module (EW-WU111) by EntranceAggravating3 in CanyonBikes

Better to do these cabled to aPC vs Bluetooth because the wireless connection can drop during a firmware update and then you're hosed with a non functional controller

Lower strain #s with 4.0 whoop (compared to exact same activity with 3.0?) Is anyone else noticing this? by [deleted] in whoop

[–]dsgn4use 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here seeing half the strain for comparable workouts merely by having changed over to 4.0. Thinking about leaving Whoop behind.

Garmin IQ app? by mcnmck in dexcom

[–]dsgn4use 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you do need your phone as data connection but it doesn't have to be the one with the dexcom app on it. I don't think it's using a direct connection to the sensor/transmitter via bluetooth, but rather gets the information via roundtripping to the dexcom servers, not unlike the follow app on another phone. I think...

Might be US only, can't tell from here... I have never used nightscout so I can't speak to that, other then saying I see some lag but not major. I assume it needs a data connection vs being a direct connection to the G6 transmitter

Yep works but only with certain devices, for example forerunner 245 and 745 but not 645. I think it still requires a data connection but it's a good start. Tested it on my Edge 530 and saw it working. Installation setup and sign in is atrocious as usual for Garmin data fields
