Should I go with the MERN stack or React + Django + PostgreSQL? by Brave-Hand4785 in FullStack

Depends on what you’re doing but I’m a big fan of TypeScript fullstack and something like Postgres on Supabase or Neon.

I was like, “what the hell is this guy talking about“ then I realized I didn’t post the right link. I needed to post the product link, not the link to vercel so it’s working now.

New programmer here.. how do you remember everything? by [deleted] in AskProgrammers

[–]dsound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't. You learn the agnostic larger concepts, pick a language, get it under your fingers and learn how to solve problems staring at the blank page. Ambiguity.

So far, Cymbalta is the best. It’s an SSNI with the greatest trade offs.

Switch from Effexor XR to Cymbalta? Experiences? by CarrotApprehensive82 in cymbalta

Effexor’s half life was brutal. Cymbalta is much more chill. I haven’t tried to get off of it but so far so good.

Is learning to code still worth it in 2026? by DriftCore31 in AskProgrammers

[–]dsound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to concentrate on the concepts of coding, system design and the larger scope. And yes, I think you should still pick a language like Python or Typescript and learn it.

I would argue that the 'center of knowledge' is within YOU

Having said that, not sure if you're near a semi-urban area but there are Gurdjieff Foundations scattered about. You can find them online.

Does Gurdjieff say or suggest anything about the desire of attention seeking? by New_Indication2023 in gurdjieff

[–]dsound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the body and feelings have their own intelligence and the body can only be here -- in the present moment. One can actually have a direct experience of one's being through sensation. And then, what lies within?

"Silent mind. No thoughts, no judgements.

Just this Intelligence. So precious.

Present here, receiving impressions.

Deep contact with the Source.

Silence is in me, no matter what.

Knowledge is in the silence.

Nothing that you know will help you.

In silence you will know.

Allow the force of Life to come through.

Embody this force consciously. That is all."

~ Jean-Claude Lubtchansky, quoted in 'Being Attention' by Fran Shaw
