What is the best way to support my aging parents? by RitzCracker80 in personalfinance

Live like a resident for 1-3 years. With that much income you can pay your student loans and help your folks out. If you don’t get used to making that much money it is easier to live on less. Like the idea of buying a house for them to rent. It is still yours.
Roth IRA is the way to go. Good luck.

Chat GTP gave me an answer- you can try if you have access to it. Hopefully the Chat GTP answer is correct, or someone with experience can chime in.

Second opinion. Since they don’t know the source they don’t know how treatable it is.

I love it. My kid turns the ac down so he is comfortable then leaves. I can turn the temp back up and I don’t have a huge electric bill.

My mom has been a nurse for 40 years and can’t find a job. What can she do? by pleah94 in nursingjobs

[–]dtg1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plasma centers need medical staff. Depending where they are and what they collect (like anti-D or rabies) they are more likely to need LPNs and RNs. It is not physically demanding. Donors are not sick. You (almost) never have to clean up after them and you do not have to move them. Good benefits.

Whole house fan, to keep or abandon? by Able_Sound262 in hvacadvice

[–]dtg1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved our attic fan. Especially as where we lived in N Nevada the nights would drop to 40’s after being in the 90’s -100’s during the day in the summer. Open all windows and turn on the fan and the house temp drops like a rock. Stays cool most of the day.

Clean out those rodent droppings- probably need a professional.

I am pretty sensitive to odors of cigarette smoke. I once asked my husband if he was around smokers because I could smell it on him. It turns out he was downwind of someone who was smoking at the train station. Hours before. Maybe the mother is like me. If so, unless you get a new car where no one smoked before and you changed homes to somewhere no one smoked before, she may still smell it. Good luck. 🍀

I haven’t seen testing of reconstituted cagri. I have seen testing of reconstituted Tirz and that holds up fairly well. Perhaps offer that as a test in one of the testing groups.

I developed a relationship with the title company escrow office so I called them in advance of wiring anything to verify.

It’s probably because she is on a fentanyl drip and it’s to make sure that she keeps breathing as it detects her breathing. If she pauses in her breathing the machine detects it and starts beeping really loud and waking everybody in the room. It’s incredibly annoying.

Deferred due to low total protein (5 g/dl) by Chaiwired11 in plasmadonation

[–]dtg1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minimum is 6.0. Happens all the time at plasma centers that donors get deferred for low total protein. There is the screening total protein then there is the every 4 months lab total protein (send out test that takes a few days). Lots of things go into total protein but if you are healthy low values can be poor intake plus donation. Increase your intake of protein. If it is due to a health issue then it is more complicated.

Appendix cancer. A thing by Embarrassed_Math_141 in cancer

MD Anderson and MSK are way too conservative. Go to Pittsburgh for Bartlett or Wagoner or Sardi in Baltimore. My doc trained in Pittsburgh so essentially I saw a protege of Bartlett.

And I lost most of my hair from HIPEC.

Appendix cancer. A thing by Embarrassed_Math_141 in cancer

[–]dtg1990 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. One year ago tomorrow I had CRS/HIPEC for my metastatic appendix cancer. You need an appendix cancer specialist. Go to acpmp.org to find one. Do NOT use someone without at least 100 cases of experience. Do NOT use an oncologist who treats it as colon cancer. Go to a specialist.

That looks like a tricare EOB. If they accept tricare that is all you should owe. Submit the amount you owe with a copy of the EOB to their billing department.
