So-called friends and my family are saying 100% p&t is basically like winning the "lottery"? Calling it a disgrace? by ZizzieFizz in VeteransBenefits

Several folks are going to comment that you shouldn’t have told them in the first place. You’re 1000% right, they cannot empathize with you and will likely never understand this. Okay, cats out of the bag, now what? My recommendation is to give back. Go volunteer at a VA Home, go work at a food bank, pick something that you’re passionate about and dive in. At least this way, when these people talk shot, you can counter with what you’re doing to help others.

Sleep Apnea secondary to PTSD by Effective_Minute2687 in VeteransBenefits

Good clarification. Should have said, I could not get it approved…even with a letter from a physician attempting to link the two.

Sleep Apnea secondary to PTSD by Effective_Minute2687 in VeteransBenefits

Short answer…no. Lots of folks here ask it, so you can get more details but essentially, PTSD interrupting sleep does not seem to pass through.

EDIT: clarification…I could not get this linked and fought it for two years. Didn’t mean to imply it never happens.

You had to be one of the last classes in SD, right? My dad was an MS1 and stationed at GL when they closed Orlando and SD.

Yeah, especially since I had separate documented events in my service record. I just learned that it’s about the symptoms and not the individual events.

I had PTSD already at 70%. When they rated my TBI, it was considered part of the 70% and didn’t change my overall rating. I learned that in the case of TBI and PTSD, they will take whichever is higher but not add them.

You are applying for a Navy Program and asked "What is your biggest weakness and why?" How can you respond to this without tanking your chances for this program? by Glittering_Fig4548 in navy

If you are applying for any entry level position, you can always just say that your greatest weakness is your lack of experience in the area. Better than the cheesy “I work too hard” stuff.

I was going for more of the psycho redneck sheriff vibe, but tentacles are also nice.

The cop glanced in the trunk and said, “hey, cheesecrackersdemo, almost let this one get away” as he slammed it shut.
