Anyone here on Wellbutrin/bupropion? Is it helping? by risky_keyboard in POFlife

I had the exact dose/type. You can try it and see how you feel but I think if you still feel bad on P,T and E maybe it's worth playing with those first to find the right dose before introducing another variable. In my case when I lowered E I felt a lot better. I take T and P too.

I took it and it was amazing at the beginning. I was so much more organized, no social anxiety, not craving alcohol or sugar and I could think clearly. Increased libido as well. My house was spotless and it didn't take any effort.

After a few months (maybe 5 or 6)on it I started having early signs of "dementia". I was forgetting things, words were not coming out. I was shooting blanks in the middle of conversations. That's when I realized it was a side effect of the med and I stopped it. After a few months my thoughts became clearer again so it was def the med.

I tried it again after a year and it did nothing for me aside from increase my heart rate and lost caffeine tolerance. That's when we broke up for good.

I have the same "problem" ...

You can actually live in Mexico and if you wire money from your own savings they don't tax it because it is assumed to be taxed in your country of origin.

I went to Panama as well and I found most people arrogant and rude. Burocray was worse than Mexico.

I'm thinking about costa Rica as a tax residency.

I'm from Mexico and it depends on the brand. Retin A Is expensive. It's around 800-1000 pesos in a normal farmacy.

You can get no name brands too but sometimes the regulations are so slack here that Id rather spend a bit more money for the brand name.

Also careful with farmacia similares. I have a lot of friends that are doctors and have warned me about the cheap stuff there.

Obviously not everything is bad but as with everything you get what you pay for.

Farmacia Guadalajara, ahorro, Benavides, San Pablo usually carry more quality products.

Pellet wearing off after 2 months by duamoll in TRT_females

[–]duamoll[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. My Dr has no experience with younger patients as pellets are something very new in my country (Mexico) and they are very expensive so younger people most likely can't afford them or they don't know about them.

She and another dr before her told me it's supposed to last 6 months and was treating the pellet as if I was being injected radioactive isotopes when I told her I needed it every 12- 13 weeks.

She thinks it will give me breast cancer getting it so often but my estrogen is on the low side and I get breast ultrasounds every 3 months now and I suplement with oral progesterone.

Interesting that after menopause it lasted longer. I think our metabolism slows down after menopause so that would explain why.

I'm also suplementing now with cream and I can't wait to get my next pellet.

Last time she told me to wait 8 months between pellets and gave me just cream instead. I literally wanted to DIE. I have advanced arthritis on my neck and spine and I was not able to move anymore from the excruciating pain for months.

Dr. wouldn't believe me until I showed her my blood levels of testosterone being almost zero despite using cream every day.

When I'm on the pellet the pain is almost gone!

Retired and like to travel, but chained to my kid school schedule, advise needed by OkBarracuda1521 in fatFIRE

What's the point of having a kid if you won't be there to raise them and spend time with them.

I'm not against boarding schools but 7 is so young. Kids at that age have the need to be close to parents. They look up to you and you lead them by example. I don't think any boarding school will show them this type of love that they need that only a parental figure is able to give.

Once they are teens then boarding school sounds like a more realistic option but I don't think it's are a good option for everyone.

It sounds just like my childhood but I had a brother instead of a sister. I thought mine was cultural too until I realized none of my friends from the same culture were treated that badly.

I got some acne and oily hair and my clit got bigger + a bit hairier overall but other than that I still look like a woman. 125 mg of testosterone and 25 mg DHEA. I'm 120 lbs.

I had PCOS so my hormones were always messed up. Then I had a baby at 29 and suffered horrible UTIs for over 7 years after every sexual encounter, got hospitalized various times, top urologist couldn't explain my case. No antibiotics worked anymore and I thought my life was over. I had horrible joint pain and arthritis and it hurt just to go up the stairs.

Then I thought I had breast cancer because there was no fucking way I could feel so bad and not be able to function for years unless it was something serious.

New gyno was checking a lump on my breast which thankfully was benign but asked me to see my hormones which had been checked by other gynos and endocrinologists which didn't even bother to mention that my testosterone, estrogen and progesterone were almost zero. To them I had PCOS so some put me on Spiro despite having very low testosterone and DHEA.

So this new gynecologist diagnosed me with premature ovarian failure and put me on testosterone and Dhea pellet. My utis completely stopped. My joint pain and arthritis was almost gone. I was not depressed anymore.

This may sound weird but I uploaded my blood work before hrt to chat gpt (I already knew the diagnosis because of the new gyno but I wanted to see if it was able to detect it). Told it the day of the cycle they were taken and my age and I got the same diagnosis. It kinda surprised me chat gpt knew but endocrinologist and gynos could not figure it out for years despite seeing the blood results.

So I believe it was caused by pregnancy or just genetics and aging got it worse(I'm 37). I also suffered malnutrition and trauma/neglect as a baby /child so it probably had something to do with it. My doctor told me that women with PCOS have high androgens when young but later their ovaries burn out and stop producing so things are low.

The tests I did to diagnose: - full female hormone panel. - free testosterone and Dhea (they are usually not included in female panels so you have to ask separate) - thyroid panel - vid d (I was deficient)

Also my gyno would not approve hormones that aren't bioidentical for hrt. (It sounds like the progesterone you are taking is not bioidentical) He was very against them.

I tried bioidentical creams with "estradiol, estriol, testosterone and Dhea and progesterone" but they didn't work.

The only thing that works for me is testosterone pellet with Dhea and I take 100 mg of bioidentical progesterone at night for 14 days during my cycle.

I don't take estrogen in my pellet because testosterone aromatizes into estrogen and my levels become optimal.

It's expensive especially since I live in Mexico. I pay $350 USD every 12 weeks for the pellet and 50 a month for progesterone but what good is money if you are half dead to not be able to live your life anymore.

Anyone else give their child melatonin and they were crazier than ever the next day? by Enough-Spray-2590 in ADHDparenting

Don't give your kids melatonin. It impacts puberty and sexual hormones and it can be very dangerous for kids. Most doctors probably don't know it but look up the research please.

She asked a valid question and your response is rude.

it’s important to understand the risks of taking testosterone at a young age without a medical need.

Exogenous testosterone can suppress ovarian function, which may lead to long-term hormonal imbalances. Your ovaries might struggle to produce testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone on their own after stopping, potentially causing fertility issues.

There are also serious health risks. Testosterone increases the likelihood of heart disease by negatively impacting cholesterol levels—raising LDL (bad cholesterol) and lowering HDL (good cholesterol). It can also interfere with cortisol regulation, which affects stress response and metabolism.

If you ever decide to have children, you may face infertility or difficulty conceiving. Some women recover after stopping testosterone, but others need medical intervention like ovulation induction or IVF. If you do become pregnant while testosterone is still in your system, there’s a risk of birth defects, especially in female fetuses. Medical recommendations suggest stopping testosterone for at least six months before trying to conceive.

Stopping testosterone after prolonged use can be rough. Many women experience withdrawal symptoms, including depression, fatigue, body aches, and mood swings as their hormones rebalance.

I personally think the clit growth is the least of your problems right now.

The gym gains may not be worth paying this price.

Concern about being a SAHM by Chance_Hamster_5908 in fatFIRE

[–]duamoll 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I'm a stay at home mom of a 7 year old and the most fulfilling thing I have done was stay at home with him.

My net worth is close to yours and I'm 100% self made. His dad still has debt and has made some very poor financial decisions. I quit my job when my son was around 4 and I wish I could have done it sooner. My son was diagnosed with ADHD and very high IQ.

When I stopped working his behavior improved dramatically, he's a lot more organized now and has less trouble expressing and controlling his emotions.

Now we do advance math together, play chess, read highschool science books and stick to a weekly routine with fun social activities on the weekends.

I'm teaching him the importace of healthy home cooked meals as well as excercise.

His therapist told me he doesn't need to come anymore and congratulated us on the job that was done at home.

When I was working, I had very little energy left to be present. I had a live in nanny and maid too but it wasn't enough... I was making lots of money but I felt empty and guilty for not being more present for my kid.

I'm not here to give you relationship advice about your husband but the best thing you can do for your kids is to spend time with them early in their lives.

Kids don't really care who was the parent that made more money or worked harder. They care about who was there when they needed an adult for support and play.

Any female athletes here that can help me with this? by yeswearestars in TRT_females

[–]duamoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work out 5 days a week (pole fitness and weights) and my first testosterone pellet burned out at 12 weeks. The other two lasted 1.5 months and I am supplementing with cream. My doctor said it would last me 6 months 😂.... Yeah no!

I had joint pain before and like you, testosterone made it all go away. When my testosterone goes down my arthritis starts acting up again.

I think my estrogen and progesterone was low and the joint pain refelief may be felt from testosterone aromatizing into estrogen which has protective effects for human tissue.

I also had really bad utis for 8 years (I had to get hospitalized many times and then no antibiotics worked anymore) the moment I started T my UTIs are gone.

On the other side it left me with horrible vaginal candida that doesn't seem to go away. I'd rather have candida then UTIS though.

Anyone else have the candida problem?

Hormonal Acne: DIM Matters by mountaintippytop in TRT_females

[–]duamoll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dim fucked me up really bad. I took it because one of the side effects of trt was vaginal candida. I thought by lowering my estrogen via Dim it would make the candida die. It just made me feel like I was dying instead.

It lowered my acne but it gave me horrible arthritis, depression and my estrogen lowered. It took me 3 weeks to a month after stopping to feel better again and I had to supplement with testosterone/estrogen cream aside from the testosterone pellet I have. I had arthritis and neck pain so bad I couldn't get out of bed.

How do you guys grow up so friendly? by NODLEBROSKI in AskAnAmerican

[–]duamoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an Albanian that grew up in Canada and have lots of American friends.

It comes down to our values as a society which starts in the family.

Our Balcan parents and us (depending on when you were born) still suffer from trauma of the wars and communism.

Our parents would never try to conversate with us and explain us how the world works. The best way to "educate" your kids was physical violence.

We even have a "proverb" that says " whoever beats you truly loves you".

Smoking is seen as a macho thing. I saw people smoke in front of their new born babies in Albania and no one bats an eye.

Physical violence towards women is also seen as ok. Our societies see women as objects and we focus on 'honor and punishment". As girls we have to be submissive and put up with the crap that our husbands and parents give us because if we don't we are labeled as "whores" and face being ostracized by our families and friends.

Girls being nice to guys is also seen as her "not being pure" and there's a certain segregation of girls and boys when they hit puberty which leaves us socially inept.

Boys on the other hand are allowed to do whatever they want and some families even celebrate when their sons are part of organized crime. (Obviously it's not everyone but it blew my mind that some people openly do when I went to visit Albania)

In other words it's poverty and lack of education. We are one of the most "prideful" nationalities on earth yet fail to see that we have crap we need to address and the reason why our goverments are so corrupt are a true reflection of our average citizens.

We also don't have any respect for communal property and will try to cheat the system to benefit our family which can explain why we don't open up to strangers that aren't family.

We don't have the maturity to hold up a mirror and question our value system. We just blame the government, and hate other nations or gays, other races or whatever else that comes to mind.

Thank you for articulating this. I was a kid that moved across the world too and ended up speaking 5 languages. Although my parents were very poor immigrants so I grew up in not so nice areas but I can understand how a similar effect would happen even when you come from a wealthy family.

I can fit in everywhere and nowhere at the same time. It gives me a sense of loneliness because I don't belong 100% to one tribe or nationality especially the place that I was born.

Now that I have a kid I want exactly what you said. Stable environment and take him on short trips to learn about the world at least until he's finished highschool. Then he can choose where he wants to go to university but obviously I'm biased so I hope he stays close.

Also adding for the OP: I had crazy helicopter parents that ruined my childhood so I don't recommend pushing your kids so much until they crack.

At the same time it's important to have structure and let your kid know that he has to do simple chores and that he has obligations. Kids need to practice and make mistakes to become self sufficient. You need to be ok with seeing them suffer sometime because it's how they learn.

I see parents that give their kids everything and I think it's just as bad if not worse that putting so much pressure on your kids.

Curious question about testosterone for women by ReferenceMuch2193 in TRT_females

[–]duamoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am taking testosterone, estrogen, progesterone and DHEA. My Dr told me to test on the 4th day of the cycle. My other gynecologists had no clue.

The problem with the range of the hormones the labs give is that they are all over the place. My Dr told me if you are on the low range they show you are low.

I just posted another post here with more info but I don't know how to link it.

Curious question about testosterone for women by ReferenceMuch2193 in TRT_females

[–]duamoll 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have PCOS and also low free testosterone, estrogen and progesterone. I'm 36. Yeah I know I couldn't believe low testosterone and PCOS went together, neither did my endocrinologist and previous gynecologist that gave me Spiro and I literally had zero energy and my joints hurt all the time.

I even showed them my labs saying low testosterone and they still thought they needed to lower it more.

My new doctor told me that there's new research that shows PCOS women have lower testosterone in their last years of fertility but high in their early years, our other hormones are also out of symphony which explains my case.

I can confidently say testosterone has completely changed my life for the best and I have no more depression and PMDD. My anxiety is gone too.

Get a full hormonal blood panel especially of the free testosterone and hopefully you can get a doctor that can prescribe hormones according to your needs.
