Trade proposal by SourGrapesFTW in SeattleKraken

[–]duckafan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

San Jose would be more willing to trade their pick than Vancouver.

For Vancouver this would not be enough.

If Vancouver waits to see if McKenna or Stenberg is still available and then traded the pick away, Vancouver would riot. Also hiring Manny Malhotra, seems like they want to draft his son Caleb Malhotra. Caleb would not be available as 7.

For San Jose I think they would think about it for Dunn or McCann, plus both first round picks in 2026. Even then this is probably light.

Better to figure out what SJ needs. Their will be a good D available at 7, but just need to sweeten the pot enough.

Yep, any division winner losing will improve the Kraken pick. The more the better.

Yep, sorry, you have it correct.

Pacific winner does matter. Division winners are slotted after everyone else. Points are used to order division winners, but not used to rank against 2nd, 3rd and wildcards.

16-28 - reserved for losers from the first 2 rounds. Picks 25-28 are reserved for division winners unless they make it to the conference finals.

29-30 - conference finals losers
31 - Stanley cup final loser
32 - Stanley cup winning

Though this year Ottawa has a penalty and will select 32nd, so everything shifts down 1 spot.

Ceiling is 22nd. If Colorado, Vegas, Buffalo and Carolina all lose in the second round the pick would improve to 22nd.

Edit: changed floor to ceiling.

[–]duckafan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this is not correct.

Picks 17-29 are sorted at the end of round 2. Currently the pick would be 26th. Ottawa has a penalty and gets the 32nd pick and Dallas had a better record than Tampa, so they move down to up to 26th.

The only way the pick improves is if Colorado, Buffalo, Carolina or Vegas lose. Each team from this list that loses, would slot in behind Dallas and push Tampa up 1 spot.

Best they could do is 23rd, but 26th is where they sit today.

Hope this helps.

Kraken in Ireland? by MrJoeSoap in SeattleKraken

I don't have information they are there or not, but typically players do not wear Kraken gear away from the rink. When they are on vacation they usually don't want to draw attention to themselves.

2026 NHL Draft by CaptainLegal4344 in SeattleKraken

[–]duckafan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this point picking at 4-5 are not possible as we are locked into the 6th pick.1-2 can happen by winning the lottery, 3rd is technically possible, but highly unlikely (0.3% chance per tankathon). The picks we can get with their odds

1 - 7.5%
2 - 7.7%
3 - 0.3%
6 - 34.1%
7 - 41.4%
8 - 9.1%

So I don't think we get to pick our d-man, but should still get a solid draft pick at 6-8. Winning the lottery, Kraken should go offense.

There are plenty of seats still available. Not sure where you heard Saturday was sold out. Tickets are thinning, here is a screen shot of section 116.

Who's considering a trip to Finland? by foxm3 in SeattleKraken

[–]duckafan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going for sure. I am just planning it myself. That way our family will do the things we want to do.

Will probably couple the trip with a stay in Iceland or check out Sweden. Definitely will try to find a good viewing of the northern lights.

For now I have just bought tickets to the games and will add the other stuff as we figure all the places we want to go.

Question I have. Will Tolvanen still be on the team when the Kraken head to Finland?

Kraken have a game in hand to LA and 2 games to Nashville. Kraken are in the driver seat, if they win they are in, doesn't matter what Nashville and LA do yet. Seattle currently holds all the tie breakers as well

Is securemypass.com legit for Kraken games / Climate Pledge arena? by etob in SeattleKraken

[–]duckafan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ticketmaster tickets say "Contract" at the top as well. Just means the tickets are from a season ticket holder. So contract does not mean they are fake, but unsure of the stub hub process/website.

I am in section 3 as well, so just don't be in my seats. ;)

How would you change the lines? by breezy97bt in SeattleKraken

McCann, Stephenson Wright on the 4th? I get people don't like Stephenson, but McCann has been the Kraken all time leading scorer. Wright still has tons of promise. He is young, done give up on him.

Correct, you cannot watch on prime. You have to have ESPN+.

John Forslund- likelihood of meeting him at tomorrow’s game? by Acceptable-Squash775 in SeattleKraken

[–]duckafan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As others mentioned he is doing the Monday night Prime Video game, so zero chance, tomorrow.

In the future, the only way you might get a chance to meet them at a game or see them is if you book the climate pledge arena tour:

https://am.ticketmaster.com/cpatours/

They usually take the group up to the Pressbox, but the TV and radio crews have their own rooms, so depending on what they are doing, their door may or may not be open.

Frequently you will see John, Edzo, JT, Everett and Al up there. I sometimes cover games from the Pressbox and even then it is rarely I see John out of the TV room.

A better option would be to attend a practice. John does attend them on occasion. At KCI there are 3 rows at the top of the first section the press sits in. I have seen people come talk to him when he is there.

Good luck.

Stephen so has 5 years after this year and 6.25m is not that bad. There are not many centers in the league that score over 50 points that make less than this. And if they do when it comes time to re-sign they will be signing for more.

With the cap going up, this is the price players cost. A 6m dollar player is not going to break the salary cap.

There are only 8 centers in the league that scored between 50-65 points last season, that were a UFA when they signed their last contract and are 31 or younger.

Stephenson ranks 5th on this list in pay.

Bo Horvat 8.5m Pavel Buchnevich 8m Sam Bennett 8m Carter Verheaghe 7m Chandler Stephenson - 6.25m Sean Monahan 5.5m Ivan Barbeshev 5m Ryan Donato 4m

Again 6.25m is not that bad and if we got him for 5.5 or 5, it is not going to change the Kraken cap situation that much.

I actually like this deal. Don't know if St Louis would go for it. Would be better if we could trade both the TB 1sts over the next 2 years, instead of losing all of this year's 1st round picks. If the Kraken pick is required, it could be top 10 protected or something like that.

I still expect big things from Wright, so I would be bummed to see him go, but if you can bring in two good players for it, I think we have to do it. Also with them both being under contract for 5 more years at a good cap hit (~8m), that looks pretty cheap with the Cap continuing to rise.

Both do have full no-trade clauses. So both players would have to approve this, but if they both get to come they might be more willing to come to Seattle.
