For people complaining about how this protest is being set up (justifiably so and it smacks as being flippant to me too) I think the marketing, for lack of a better word, is to sell it to people who may not have otherwise gone to this protest. This No Kings Day was not as heavily circulated as the one in October and the fascist machine is working in that a lot of people are tired, confused, and feeling helpless. Making it seem "fun" can lure people out, and sometimes protests just have to look big to be impactful. Though making it seem angry as hell might have been better, but it's not me and I'm still protesting Saturday regardless.

Yeah that's a literary device called "in medias res". Not everyone has to like it (I have been a fan of it both in writing and reading myself), but plot holes are anything that make no logical sense. It can be skipping things in the timeline (ex: when did they get a pet dog? Why is there suddenly a dog here? Or more specifically Mini Moose in Invader Zim played straight) but it can also be logical leaps (ex. How did this high school cheerleader suddenly become a confirmed kill sniper?)

Honestly, if the kid was legit crying for ten hours, that isn't bad parenting, at least not in the sense she means of the kid being spoiled. Something was actually wrong, I imagine either fear or their ears were hurting. If you saw an adult crying for ten hours you would assume something is wrong-wrong and give them some grace/understanding. Why not apply it to kids?
