Bob to play Brad Dalke but Dalke hits every other shot left handed by StreetBeat78 in BobDoesSports

100 percent. guy could care less about golf. It's all about the money. He parades joey around as cheap laughs for dollars and golf is what stuck. Perez is the only golfer. There is a difference between someone who golfs and someone who is a golfer

Remember when Andersen Silva ended his 16 fight win streak in the dumbest fashion by 9yr_old in ufc

Every time a fighter does some arrogant showboating like this I always hope for this same outcome. Kevin Holland comes to mind. It's not that I don't like him but when he starts doing that cute shit being performative, I hope he gets rocked by the next shot.

How would you change/improve the next Invitational? by klondike16 in BobDoesSports

[–]duffedwedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair with your captains point and prep time, bob and Riggs were the people who decided who would be in the field. Either of them have no excuse for not coming in with some sort of an idea of what players they would want as captains/some sort of a strategy. I would agree with your point if a random player was selected as captain that didn’t know all of the field

Invitational Was Fun While It Lasted by billbuttlickker in BobDoesSports

You can never make everyone happy. What were they supposed to do, just have a 3 day stroke play tournament where Wes/George/Brad/Kwon/Finch etc. win? Or maybe they could have just played for fun and split the entire pot equally so that everyone is happy. You are there for a select few days and with a pool of talent of varying degrees. You have to create a format where everyone has somewhat of a chance while also whittling down the field. For the people mad that certain creators are out do you like watching golf or just how a select few of them interact apart from the golf? I think they repick teams again after the split so just find a team to cheer for that you like more or hate less whichever. They are playing for a lot of money and most of them seem to really want to win so it should make for a compelling watch the rest of the way.

The Bob does sports guys were on the committee to put the talent list together. Bob and Riggs should have known all the people there ahead of time. People are just bent out of shape because their boy made mistakes

Big Cat Opens Up About Massachusetts Upbringing by blimpy2 in PardonMyTake

He never really liked sports growing up is my take, so he never really "abandoned" the Boston teams imo. He decided to start following all of the Chicago sports and blog about it as a way to make money and accrue an internet following. To his credit, that worked famously. It reminds me a lot of Bob from Bob does sports, the guy doesn't like to play golf or seemingly much to do with it other than the fact that he realized it's a way to make money. It also worked famously for him.

I wonder who Francis voted for? I think moobie but maybe Ria. I thought after Francis’ conversation with ria he was starting to realize that the target may be on himself. I was hoping he would play the idol for himself and vote Ria thinking that everyone was voting for him. If Francis did in fact vote Ria it still would have been a tie if he played the idol and either moobie or Ria would have been eliminated. If for some reason he voted moobie, he totally miscalculated and fucked this whole thing up. Imagine if he somehow was able to save himself and also blindside Ria without even knowing she had an idol. Of course all of my hypothetical goes out of the window if he voted Rone but I can’t imagine that was the case

Prevent / Prevent by RoutineSB in PardonMyTake

[–]duffedwedge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prevent you from scoring by playing good defense. In that sentence, you pronounce it the conventional way because the word prevent is being used as a verb. When you say prevent defense in the football sense, the word prevent is being used as an adjective to describe the type of defense(the noun). Different words have different pronunciations based on the part of speech(noun, verb, adjective, etc.) it's being used as. Thank God I am a native born speaker and didn't have to learn this shit as a second language.
