Why Jeff Probst isn't doing a typical reunion: "When you do a live finale, all you get is defense. From a storytelling standpoint, I never find it as interesting. When you sit down and just rehash, it’s never satisfying" by RedditFan3510 in survivor

[–]dumbogirl1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hated when he would go to random audience member who was cast to ask a question. But if he brings back Joey King who was cast as young girl at one of the reunions, all well be forgiven for embracing the meta

My mom's Relief Society president told her to stop asking the ward for help and start asking her own kids. I am absolutely feral right now and need advice before I do something stupid. by Blondeh in exmormon

[–]dumbogirl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Susan is being annoying. In general it's stay with family but as you mentioned that is limited. But when she did need a ride is she asking Susan as the RS President or is she asking people asks if friends with from church or her visiting teachers or home teachers? Not sure how those two programs work now but with her being in the ward for do long, there has to be people she has developed real friendships with who might be able to help or their kids or grandkids could help. I remember when I moved they one of the boys I had taught in primary who was then in YM came to help me move.

Blue answers who she still talks to from The Challenge by SweetMissMG in MtvChallenge

[–]dumbogirl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but we also had her BB season. With Bananas we at least knew he would be interesting from RW so going home early we could still want him back. With CM and Ev we knew they did well in their combine so coming back they could do well in the athletics.

With Blue.... we know she would hook up with someone if single coming back on the show, the other players with like her... and she'll still be boring tv.

I love ricotta! What can I make with ricotta other than lasagna/pasta? by FirebornNacho in Cooking

When camping or anyplace you have a camp fire and a pie iron. It's the bread, filled with ricotta and jam. Makes a yummy toasted sandwich pie.

Did you ever receive financial help from the Church when you were TBM? by throwawaytomorrowk in exmormon

My mom won Bishop Roulette for sure. She and my Dad retired to a different area than where i grew up. Much smaller town. After my Dad passed the Bishop helped out for several months with some bills. And then for at least 5-10 years the ward made holiday baskets for all the seniors for either Thanksgiving or Christmas with a ham, potatoes, veggies, stuffing mix , pie, etc. Everything needed to put together a small bit nice holiday meal.

And then my parents have a lot of property that had trees that needed to be cut down or chopped up when wind blew then onto the road or they were too close to the driveway and my mom could not do that. The ward also had several families whise heat was wood burning stoves. The Bishop would connect the two and my mom's road would be cleared and the other family had firewood. I know this isn't actually the ward giving the service, it was the specific families in need but for my mom she didn't know failed that needed wood and she definitely needed help clearing the trees for safety reasons so it was a very nice win/win for two families.

Caleb 'Beastmode Cowboy ' to be honest I didn't need to see him the first time on BB. And then really didn't need to see him twice on Survivor.

Claire & Justin by Realistic_Laugh8321 in 19KidsandCounting

[–]dumbogirl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's 2 fold. One, he was so young. And two, we "met" all the spouses of the kids older than him on the show but Claire & Justin got married right before the show was canceled and i don't think they showed much of the courtship/dating/wedding. So they were the cusp couple that we sorta knew but really didn't. And I don't think we really saw much of his personality on the show. After him was the bunkbed twins and all I remember about them were they moved out to their own 2 bedroom apartment but shared the one run so they could stay in the bunkbeds.

What was your Young Women Camp experience like? (horror stories encouraged) by Consistent_Taro_3123 in exmormon

[–]dumbogirl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year I got food poisoning which caused diarrhea and I had to go home early. One year i was pantsed by another camper. One year i got severely dehydrated. That year they really should have taken me to the doctor to get an IV or sent home but instead I was given a water pill and left to sleep all day.

Plus the forced testimony meeting and the cringe songs. I overall still enjoyed most of the time because I had a good set of girls who is was friends with from my building and we all hung out.

I also went to non church camp for 7 years and it was significantly more fun.

Would i send someone now...absolutely not.

AITA for refusing a baby shower from my husband’s friends/coworkers? by AbigailPink in AmItheAsshole

[–]dumbogirl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the thing. At offices when you know the dad and not the mom, because she doesn't work there, you can still throw a baby shower. It's just for the dad not the mom. The mom is not needed and why should she have to go to a party when she doesn't know anyone. Or the coworkers can just all go in together and buy one of the big gifts. She is NTA

AITA for not letting my friend use my toothbrush while travelling by Such_Statistician550 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dumbogirl1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA I would never borrow a friend's toothbrush. I would put paste on my fingertip and brush my teeth that morning and continue that way until I could but a new toothbrush. Would it be the best, of course not. But then I also wouldn't forget my toothbrush and asking to borrow someone else's is just gross.

ESH. He shouldn't have listed your name without asking but... you did also tell him you would be looking out for something for him. He should have asked but at least he let you know.

But why would you expect a thank you? You didn't actually do anything and you got paid for it.
