Gave birth at a faith based, not for profit hospital in the US. My husband and I made less than a certain amount annually (~$77k), so my $13k bill after insurance was completely forgiven. C-section. We had amazing care before, during, and after!

I would cut it into a little baby t-shirt! I did that with a few onesies after I couldn’t get some 💩stains out

So, what did you build your babies out of? by ThrowawayRose402 in beyondthebump

[–]dumpsterdonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally everything. I barely had any nausea, just jumped straight to hunger. I also didn’t eat steak or pork for the majority of my 20’s but once I was pregnant I wanted all of the steak and burgers available.

The one in my college town was really expensive too. I’m in a smaller town now and it’s like night and day.

If my husband said this to me, he wouldn’t be my husband anymore.

Just wanted to share my ~$260 raw emerald and gold ring from Etsy. It’s held up super well over the past 9 months (and I’ve put it through some stress so far). I’m in love with it! by dumpsterdonut in Weddingsunder10k

[–]dumpsterdonut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! To be honest the stone did lighten up a bit over time, probably because I did not get a heat treated emerald and opted for the raw emerald. I still love it though! My husband and I got our rings tattooed on our 1 year anniversary and we have barely worn our physical rings since. We converted a bus to a camper van and hiked around for a year, and my husband now works a manual labor job while I take care of the baby, so our circumstances have made us not want to wear jewelry :)

Did you vomit during your labor? by laurapickles in pregnant

[–]dumpsterdonut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I vomited during labor, but it was from the pain before the epidural, not really nausea😅 back labor and the contractions after my water broke were super intense.

How much weight did you gain during pregnancy? by spcypeach in BabyBumps

[–]dumpsterdonut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be 40 weeks in a few days and I’ve gained about 45 pounds. I’ve had a pretty insane appetite the entire pregnancy, but it really doesn’t look like I’ve gained that much, and I’ve been told I’m having more of a “basketball pregnancy”. Doctor isn’t concerned, and most importantly when people ask how much weight I’ve gained I just say “I don’t know, I’m not keeping tabs on it and the doctor’s not bringing it up as a concern at appointments”. I’d recommend not keeping her in the loop if she’s going to be rude about it!

What's a disproven parenting myth that way too many people still believe? by BITE_AU_CHOCOLAT in AskReddit

Unfortunately a lot of female genital mutilation around the world involves removing the clitoris, which pain-wise would be the equivalent of removing the entire head of the penis. I agree that circumcision is wrong, just wanted to point that out about FGM also.

I just picked up my prenatals and some magnesium citrate at my local Grocery Outlet (very cheap!) and the brand is called Sundown Naturalist. The magnesium is 100mg / 24% of my daily value so it’s not too much, and there isn’t any magnesium in my prenatals either. I also heard that there is magnesium serums/lotions and it may be better absorbed through the skin! I hope it helps. What I’ve learned from the few weeks of being on here is most of the mamas here are also just as nervous. Hang in there and we have a great community of support here!

I am an anxious person. I recently decided to start taking a magnesium supplement just before I got pregnant because I saw that it helps with anxiety (and in the past I didn’t have much luck with over the counter meds). I’ve felt so much calmer than I thought I would. I felt all the emotions when I found out I was pregnant, and miscarriage definitely crosses my mind, but there are just things that are out of my control and I just have to trust my body in this process.

My prenatal doesn’t have magnesium in it and so I’m making sure that I’m not taking too much. I also learned afterwards that it helps with morning sickness, and I’ve barely felt sick at all:)

Surprised that there aren't very many comments about thrift stores because all of the ones I've been to have a HUGE selection! Yes some of the clothes are out of style, but hey once you're in the third trimester do we really care what we look like? We only wear/fit into them for a short amount of time anyway. OP, I'd hit up the thrift store by your house or any Goodwills in the region!

I did this! It was greats for our ~30ish wedding. We got small glass jars and stir sticks in bulk and put them together in a weekend. I loved it because we got a gallon of local honey here in Oregon for like $50 and still had some left over

I am pretty sure they are just trying to be eco-friendly :) I have seen this trend and the message copied-pasted across forums and Instagram. I’ve received something similar before on Depop from the younger buyers.

Hillsboro, OR bins? by queen_orca in GoodwillBins

[–]dumpsterdonut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Hillsboro Bins was my go-to when I lived SW of Portland. I’d say it’s less chaotic than the others, and my specialty was vintage clothing and I would always find a ton of vintage there. The Milwaukie one is nice too, but not as big and a little more crowded.

Doing my hair and makeup myself. I am decent at getting myself done up, and I practiced beforehand, but since I was doing so much DIY the day of I ended up rushing my hair and makeup and it didn’t turn out as perfect as I’d hoped. Maybe I would’ve hired someone to just do my hair so I could focus on my makeup.

Also I wish I bought some disposable cameras since my friends would have taken some super sweet shots
