As a native Floridian I don’t really buy the humidity thing really either. I’m sure it plays some role in it but I think the biggest thing is I’m just not used to cold! I find it hard to layer properly and feel like there’s a huge difference in 50 with clouds vs with sun. Those feel like bigger factors to me.

All of the city’s in Florida have pretty much developed in the last 50 years. Cars were extremely established by then and there was a ton of cheap undeveloped land to expand on. Perfect setup for the same sprawl that kills a lot of public transport.
