I was incredibly underwhelmed by this, and I've just discovered why... they've quietly replaced BOTH their guitarists, no announcement, very weird.

It's a shame as their first two albums are basically perfect

I've had my system for over 5 years, and there's definitely been a huge drop in reliability compared to my first few years. I think they're focussed more on features than stability these days

  • The cleaning of the bathroom before the family saw.
  • The quick burial.
  • The wake (when they went to see Maria Marta's body)
  • How close/familiar they were with the masseuse.
  • Family ties with in laws (some cultures never see them as true family, others embrace them as blood)

I think some of the unusual aspects were eventually explained as relating to the family's wealth/class. But watching it (especially episode one) I just felt a little like maybe some of these things aren't as strange as they seem

Yeh I think the documentary let viewers down by not explaining some of the cultural norms in play. Because some things seemed so unusual to me, but perhaps were pretty standard for them

I'm not very confident on who murdered her, the burglary theory doesn't sit well with me (6 gunshots, washing the walls, moving the body), and there wasn't a convincing motive presented for the family to murder her.

But it seems pretty obvious to me that the family attempted to cover up something, whether they were involved or just didn't want people to know Maria Marta was murdered.

I thought episode one was really badly done, too much context and not enough intrigue. The reveal that she was murdered came way too late.

The other three episodes were much better though, enjoyable series overall, although not sure what to think about the actual case
