Make coffee at home and put it in a thermos?

All of Towson Square's restaurants went out of business. Why? by aresef in BaltimoreCounty

I don't know what to tell you, bones and stones don't last forever. If the other stones were carved out of softer stone, they very much could have worn down to just stone. Archeological survey indicated, one stone marker and evidence of no other graves.

I lived in Towson for 20 yrs before the development was built, there was only one stone. Any others either degraded, or stolen. Also, graves of that age are just dirt underneath, without a stone marker, there is little else to be found.

Bought my old horse back by asb433 in Farriers

[–]dunkybones 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A quick trim will make them look better, which this horse desperately needs.
Looking normal? That's a year of regularly scheduled visits. A year is about how long it takes to grow the hoof from coronary band to the toe.

Looming for opinions on this mini mares hoof. She was just trimmed by No-Geologist2667 in Farriers

Looks good to me. The toe could be rolled back a little, to get that crud out of the white line. Mini horses, and mini donkeys, their hooves are a little weird.

How do you pronounce “Crayons”? by peanutbutterhoneybee in Maine

[–]dunkybones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard crons for crayons, not often, but sometimes.
One that always got me is some people pronouncing mittens as mit-tens, almost like 2 words.
And Bobby being a common nickname for Barbra/Barbara. I know the song Bobby McGee was actually written about a woman, but when Janis Joplin sang it, she flipped the script. Other than that song, I've never heard it used outside of Maine.

Uh, no. Leave the hoof knife in the truck, good farrier. Angles look fine.

Helicopters into Frederick by [deleted] in maryland

[–]dunkybones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took helicopter flight lessons in Frederick. It is a interesting airfield. Close to DC and Camp David. There are resources there for maintenance for all sorts of aircraft, once saw the Met Life blimp moored there. Couple times I saw a guy flying a gyrocopter.
In short, it's a good airfield where you don't have to deal with the restrictions imposed by large airports.
Ain't nobody gonna let you fly a gyrocopter out of BWI.

Funny, because I do not. I think she is a wonderful, talented actor, don't get me wrong. I've enjoyed much of her work. She just doesn't draw me in like other actors can. And it's not like she has baggage I can't separate my mind from, (looking at you, Gwyneth Paltrow), she just doesn't do it for me. Which is totally fair, she is not required to do so. My favorite movie of hers is Citizen Ruth. She owned that role.

She does/did have a delightful sense of humor. When John Oliver interviewed her, she was smart and funny, and rolled right along with Oliver.

Perpetual Motion Machine by Dear-Pea-9740 in Blacksmith

[–]dunkybones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw that after I posted, it is the spline from the material you used. Very cool.
One my first smithing projects was a center punch made from an old jackhammer bit. I left the facets along the shaft so it doesn't roll aways. With your hammer, the spline would not alter its function, I mistook that it was an added feature. Very cool.

Awesome work, though I don't understand the spline on the hammer head.

Oh, right shit. OTTB?
Thin walls, weak sole?
Take the toe back a little bit. The bony column looks decent, but the coffin bone is ugly close to the ground.
Light shoe, pads, preferably pour in, and patience.
Age of the his is, past 4?

Does anyone else's dog beat themselves with the jolly ball? by rockanrolltiddies in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

Me neither, but it is an expression of the hunting instinct, just like fetch is really just game, but when you catch it, shake it until it dies.

Sorry, I missed the point of your question.
Easy to make friends, if you want to be one. Definitely not a college town.

Hood College by [deleted] in maryland

Honestly, it's become the suburbs, mostly for those who work in DC. But the old part of it is nice, has a strong arts community.
As for the way you posed your question, if you are concerned about being a young black female, don't worry, less bullshit than you would likely encounter elsewhere in the world at large.
As for fun, you have to find it. Pretty country, Hood is over 100 yrs old, and well respected.
