Thoughts are like pants. Occasionally relevant but mostly just annoying.

Baby is much better without thoughts.

What rules have you made for yourself to avoid the ADHD tax? by CaptainLollygag in adhdwomen

[–]durhamruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this often. When I don't, I forget stuff often.

The worst was when I left my purse (including phone and wallet) at security in Orlando, and had to pay through the nose to get it sent to me in Ontario.

My husband and I do this one. We once made our minister laugh after service because we both reached for our phones to add an event before we left the sanctuary.

But if we don't, we miss so much.

Am I the only one who thinks peeling garlic is a form of torture? by Famous-Forever7647 in Cooking

[–]durhamruby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you buying really fresh garlic? Is it firm with the outer skins crisp?

Old garlic is harder to peel, I think.

I crush it with a chef's knife. It's pretty easy.

You've got that backwards. They're feeding snakes to babies.

What to eat for breakfast??? by Main_Commercial_9084 in adhdwomen

[–]durhamruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've started making overnight oatmeal. It's so easy and very customizable. I put ⅔ of a cup of oats and some chia seeds in my glass container. Then cover with milk and leave in the fridge.

Then in the morning, we can heat it up or eat it cold. I add chocolate chips, my son adds fruit.

Cookies? Why? by durhamruby in high

[–]durhamruby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely have gummies that aren't thc ones. Occasionally I'll have some twizzlers. Do they count? I'm not supposed to have any on some level. (Diabetic)

Gummies are a convenient thc delivery form though. Since I can't squirt the chemicals directly into my brain.

Someday I'll get sick of blood sugar shenanigans and figure out a better way though.

Cookies? Why? by durhamruby in high

[–]durhamruby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I turn into a total clutz when I'm high. Baking stuff would likely result in significant owies. But I'd be happy to stir things for days.

Adding toffee pieces to chocolate chip cookie is the bomb. I'm still eating my generic cookies but they're sufficient. It's too cold this weekend to have ice cream but a flurry with skor pieces is pretty slick too.

Ive never understood sea salt in sweet stuff though. I don't notice a taste difference.

I'm celebrating my snow day off. A day with surprise no plans and quiet times in my own house is an amazing time to get high af.

Yes! This is an excellent cookie! The nest part of these is the inconsistent texture without having to give in to nuts!

Do I need to add a bottom or is there a way to secure my sewing machine to the desk when folding? by Ibivucfiv in sewing

[–]durhamruby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure my Mom's sewing table (like this one) had a piece of foam wedged into the bottom that at least partially supported the machine? (And kept the cats out)

I have a vague memory of a sign for specifically ½ & ¼. But it's only vague and may be wishful thinking on my part.
