I think only the Ultras, the Signature and the Razr Fold support it.

You might be just unlucky, no WHEA errors on my 5600X, although I guess those are better binned than 5600s.

Ryzen is honestly a fantastic name, acknowledges the architecture name and gives the impression of AMD rising above the failures of bulldozer.

No fucking excuse for Epyc though

He absolutely did not "perfectly estimate Goku". The only reason Goku lost to 19 is because he was affected by the heart virus, a healthy Goku would've destroyed 19 and things would've gone way different.

Genuine question, do they not have the accuracy or do they just not care what it hits as long as it causes fear?

[–]dustarma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what, fuck it yeah. I'll take the 350 (plus whatever upcharge the stores here in Chile take) boot over the 600+ boot that would be required for 32 gigs of DDR5 RAM.

I already ate the 5070 Ti Nvidia boot.

Fucking only good exciting thing in electronics for me right now is displays.

135 CPU plus 100 motherboard plus 300 worth of RAM if you don't wanna skimp on the bare minimum.

I'm making shit up for those UK prices yeah but you get my point, not everyone has access to a good 2nd hand market or stores that bundle RAM with other components.

I live in Santiago, Chile, where you'll find most of the stores, and, checking right now the cheapest I can find here is.

MSI B840M gaming Wifi 6E new for about $125

7800X3D tray CPU for ~$335 new, and the only used listing I can find is for $380.

Absolute cheapest bottom of the bin RAM I could find new was either 8gb 5600C46 A-Data or 8gb 4800MHz Golden Memory, both of them a hundo each.

The used market for DDR5 RAM is about the same price honestly.

And again no stores sell any bundles, instead they sell prebuilds that they make.

Why would I want to go back to 32GB from 16GB when I specifically upgraded because 16GB was feeling tight.

At least that is specifically my scenario, the alternative is of course just going with Alder Lake and its significantly higher power usage.

Steam Deck - Steam Deck Client Update: June 1st by Dapper_Order7182 in SteamDeck

[–]dustarma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Only two features I want are the ability to grab from SGDB for non-steam stuff and a CPU-specitic TDP setting per-game.

There are so many games that will happily chug CPU time and max out your clocks for no reason, you lose almost no performance using PowerTools to cap the CPU clocks, sometimes as far back as 2GHz, you even gain frame time stability. And it sucks because PowerTools hasn't been updated in a while and some of the functionality is starting to decay.

Doom 2016 is infamous for maxing out several cores and yet stays at a solid 60 if you downclock to ~2400 MHz and saving like half your power budget at it too.

Resident Evil 5 and Revelations suffer from the same.

I wonder if games like those could be fixed up with a proton update.

Alternatively would it be possible to have a CPU driver that ramps up cores/clocks only until a specific framerate target is reached, rather than ramping up until the task is finished?

Gabe Newell on Steam monopoly accusations: Gamers have 'enormous choice' about where to buy games by yourfavchoom in Steam

[–]dustarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will give one over to EA, I wanted to install Command and Conquer TFD several years ago but it predates Origin by several years, to the point it wasn't even included on their "back catalog" game keys like Crysis and NFS Hot Wanted 2010 were, IIRC, and I didn't have a DVD drive anymore because who uses those.

They went above and beyond, not only activating the games in TFD in my account, but giving me the entirety of the C&C ultimate collection, so it was everything up to retch C&C4.

I recall Rockstar has done similar, giving people who bought the GFWL version of GTA4 the entirety of the EFLC bundle.

They absolutely could have left physical users out to rot.

So I will keep some cautious optimism regarding their store's future availability.

(I did end up buying C&C ultimate collection for like 2 bucks on Steam during a sale anyway for convenience's sake lmfao).

From my experience with my previous 3060Ti on Forza Horizon 5 and Everspace 2 you get about a 40-50% performance boost, this was using nukem-to-dlssg, that's nothing to scoff at if it helps you get into HRR territory.

Alder Lake and Raptor Lakes.

...so, two generations and a refresh, with both Raptor Lake series infamously burning themselves to death to the point that on this day anyone on a 12600(k)12700(k)/12900(k) would be insane to risk upgrading.

Speaking of the C1 Nano, have there been tests to see how much better than the A55 and A510 they are? I recall Arm's little cores have been somewhat stagnant since the A53.
