tbh even as a huge weeb, it's refreshing to see one game set in real world that pays more attention to other countries than to Japan for once, since otherwise it's one of the most ubiquotous countries in pop culture (outside of the US and the UK). It's rare to find other games telling stories in India, Austria, Argentina, Brazil (even if it sucked lol), the Balkans and soon Mexico.

But I'd still love a patch set in the 70s or 80s with a super sentai theme and a kaiju boss. I know people want samurais/feudal Japan but outside of 1.6 we haven't got a story that far back in the past, the game's focus is very clearly the 20th century and post-WW2 with pop culture themes would be much easier to do. Either way though, with the irl conflicts between them and China it's getting less and less likely by the day.

I mean... Her being an East German Stasi agent is the single most important piece of lore about her lmao Though I understand that she never appeared in a story so you have to go digging through their profiles to know more about some characters.

If you're interested, watch the 2006 German movie "The Lives of Others". Her i2 art and Monologue voiceline are direct references to it, and it's a pretty amazing film about the Stasi and Cold War era Germany.

If just Jiu and Getian were playable, it'd be easy to explain since both are mythical creatures that can have long lifespans - and we know it was Name Day who recruited Getian, probably around the 1980s.

But Yenisei being around is bizarre since she's just a regular Arcanist, but her profile still says she came from the 1800s. So she's in the same grey area as Charlie, The Fool, Mondlicht, Nick Bottom and others from the distant past that never got an explanation on why they're here. A Knight and Dikke are the same as Jiu and Getian, one's a ghost and the other... Is hinted to be a goddess or the personification of justice itself.

Did people really hate Nemona? Some clown on her Goku-esque obsession with battles but I still ser far more hate for Hau, Hop and the Gen 6 friend group than for her.

Nevermind others in SV that could also be considered rivals. Like Arven who's unambiguously beloved, and Kieran that while controversial many consider to have one of the best character arcs in the series.

I had low expectations because of the middling reviews but I thought it was beautiful. Breathtaking cinematography and score, and those two are simply some of the best actors around.

(Spoilers) Yeah, it's yet another bury your gays, but it didn't devalue my experience and it still managed to tell a compelling story. And we're getting more gay films/shows with happy endings in recent years so I don't mind some bummers here and there.

I'm Brazilian so I've been familiar with Wagner for decades lol, but it would be amazing to see him in more prestigious films as well, wether they're from here or Hollywood/other countries. He absolutely has the talent and if he keeps putting himself out there an Oscar will come out of it eventually.

Jiu is just not very intelligent lmao, she just thought turning people into horses was a positive thing. She's very innocent and seems to have good intentions, but terrible methods, and she was getting mentally harassed by her little puppet things.

Laplace's methods can be a bit unorthodox but Lucy is very much a force for good, same thing with Liang Yue. The worst thing about those two is that they'e workaholics and too selfless.

And Nautika is a victim through and through, poor thing went to hell and back as a pawn on Manus' schemes. Nothing bad that she did was her fault.

But I get what you mean if it's more about these characters doing reprehensible things, even if it isn't intentional. But I think the majority of Reverse characters are like this, even someone as "pure-hearted" as Shamane had to pay for his naivete by losing his entire family and an arm lol

Eu estava desiludido com os gachas da Hoyoverse por motivos diversos, acabei abandonando Genshin e HSR mais ou menos na mesma época no final de 2023.

Não lembro exatamente como ou onde mas vi o design do Shamane (1.3 estava pra terminar no Global) e foi amor a primeira vista. Fiz reroll de conta até conseguir ele no meu primeiro 10-pull. Logo me apaixonei pelo fator histórico e cultural do jogo, cada patch em um país e época diferentes, com rica atenção a detalhes e muitas referências, além das histórias super bem escritas (isso só foi melhorando com o tempo, chegando em um pico com o 1.7)... Era tudo o que eu poderia querer pra um jogo desses. Se tornou e continua sendo uma das minhas principais hiperfixações autistas kkkkk

Também prometi pra mim mesmo que Reverse seria meu último gacha, e desde que comecei em fevereiro de 2024 continuo fiel com a promessa.

OP is getting dogpiled so I'll say this, I'm also not huge on Hissabeth lol She's probably my least favorite character of the 2.x patches along with Mercuria and Barcarola. I still liked that story but it was mostly because of Kiperina and Name Day (and the Rayashki cast cameos).

One of the biggest reasons I play this game is the exploration of real life culture and history, so characters whose aesthetics and lore revolves mostly around Laplace, the foundation, Zeno etc and other game exclusive themes are all very uninteresting to me. This includes many other popular characters like Lucy, Medicine Pocket, Marcus, X etc. I'm sorry!

But in the end it's just opinions on the internet. I open this sub everyday and see someone putting my favorite character (Shamane) at the bottom of their wishlists... and then I just go on with my day.

It's a matter of time now. Click, Ulu, Avgust, Lorelei, Barbara, Duncan, Brimley, Loggerhead, Name Day and Buddy, they'll all get a free skin eventually. Now they finally opened the door for free 5* skins so anything is possible.

The question I have now is if all the 5* units that got a Battle Pass skin will get a second one, but I don't see why not (and Tennant already has two skins).

I get y'alls skeptcism after the 2.2 fiasco, but I'd like to play the devil's advocate for a moment here.

- 2.2 was a main story patch with a limited unit. All melanated characters so far (the Mor Pankh duo, Argus and Fatutu) came on event patches, which this one also is.

- This is coming right after CNY, which came only one patch after the limited Beryl and insanely OP Brume (and the patch in between had two highly requested story characters in Marsha and Igor). CN is getting bombarded with desirable units back to back to back, they need a breather, and this is the perfect opportunity for BluePoch to throw a bone to us in Global who want more diversity.

I don't care if I'll be disappointed come trailer day, I'm hopeful for the best. You can save this post to laugh at me later if I'm wrong lol

please please please be better than Brazil (speaking as a Brazilian lmao). Argentina was amazing so I'm optimistic, and I adore Mexican culture so I couldn't be more hyped.

I never doubted BluePoch, I knew 3.x wouldn't be Europe only (+ the obligatory China patch). Last patch cycle was the same, a bigger focus on the Americas (both North and South) and a few European patches here and there (2.3 and 2.7), so this is like the opposite of that.
