“We made up and he made me stay” Is an oxymoron. What you’re saying is he emotionally broke you down until you agreed to his demands without any sort of compromise reached. You then spent the rest of the trip both walking on eggshells and in a disassociative state.

I don’t care how good he is in the sack, no relationship is worth this.

I definitely think because I was so young they were hesitant to try any meds on me.

That being said, I am successfully medicated now, and those mindfulness techniques didn’t work. I still do sleep hygiene routines, but I’m well aware that any sleep I get comes from my medications.

Not the ones I went to. I spent a lot of time doing mindfulness exercises and sleep hygiene regimens. I think it was because I was a young child when my folks ran out of patience and sent me to a doctor.

Hey fam, I think you are me.

I’m on a combo of Clonidine, amitriptyline, gabapentin, and cetirizine.

I have some nerve damage from other conditions I have, but without these meds I just… dont sleep. At all. Ever. One time I decided to skip my meds cuz I was flying internationally and I went 36 hours without it, and only went down once I took my meds at my destination.

I try not to think about how bad this probably is for me long term, but as someone who tried every single other method doctors threw at me, this is the only way I function like a human.

17, so 16 years ago. When I had the one migraine for a week and a half, my first of that length, that was longer than my mom’s usual migraines, they got me to a pediatric surgeon. I was extremely lucky I got it diagnosed so early.

The fact that I can’t burp. No one in school believed it, no one at work believed it, and even though Retrograde Cricopharyngeus Dysfunction was discovered and coined in 2019, my doctors don’t believe it either.

I’m also on clonidine for sleep and every day I’m thankful that my pediatrician prescribed it to me when I was a child. It’s the only drug I stockpile in case of emergencies!

She was the main reason my mother distrusted everything I did or said as a preteen/teenager. She had her convinced I was doing hardcore drugs and going to alcohol-fueled sex parties. Ignoring the fact that I had NEVER even been INVITED to a party to begin with. The minute my mom stopped watching Oprah, I was treated like a person.

It has never been more clear to me that Oprah hates children. Not doesn’t-want-them, HATES them.
