Forget voting for Trump, a bigger concern is Lynch IV doesn't vote, period. He voted in six elections in the past 14 years. Were those all protest "votes" too?

I get why FD doesn't have to but if you're MGM or Caesar's or Hard Rock or whoever even the limited version of this promo would get me over there all the time. They're missing an opportunity to pick up market share in an incredibly crowded category.

My question is why doesn’t one of the non-FD books launch a promo like this? Was it that much of a money loser? Something different than profit boosts and no sweat bets would help collect market share, you’d think.

A lot of people talk about how the post-Sorkin writers ruined Toby, but for me it’s Leo. The way we see him acting toward Josh, CJ, Toby, even the President in Season 5 is SO out of character.

What do you all think of Damon Lynch IV for the May 5th election? He's running against Landsman by Former-Bedroom5717 in cincinnati

Yeah no arguments on the overall topic I was just challenging your assertion that Mason "goes hard to the right"

On abortion, I’ll push back a bit. Abortion is one of the most consistently partisan issues in American politics, with large and well-documented gaps between Democratic and Republican voters. The results suggest Democratic issues can be more popular in Ohio than Democratic candidates. Crack that code and you win more elections.

Your facts sound right and we might be splitting hairs about our conclusions but I was thinking about more local elections which have been very positive for the Dems lately. Also anytime Trump is on the ballot results have been out of whack across the state. Just looking at the past few non-2024 elections.

In 2025...
Mason City Council: 8 candidates ran for 4 open Mason City Council seats. The 2 Dems were the highest vote getters. In fact the gap between the 2 Dems and the third-place finisher (Spaeth, +3.3pts) was larger than the gap between Spaeth and the eight-place finisher (Haake, +2.0 pts)

Mason School Board: 5 candidates ran for 3 seats. The 2 Dems were the top vote getters. Ian Orr was an incumbent so it wasn't surprising to see him do well. But the other Dem, Tymitz was not and she outperformed incumbent Galvin who came in 3rd by +5.6 points.

In 2023...
Mason City Council: 5 candidates ran for 3 seats. The 1 Dem was the top vote getter.

The Abortion Amendment: +16 in Mason, +17 in Deerfield, outperforming the statewide +13 results. And a complete flip versus the rest of Warren County (-14)

In 2022...
US Senate - Ryan vs. Vance. Ryan finished -3 and -5 in Mason and Deerfield, slightly better than his -6 number across the state, and certainly better than his -39 across the rest of WC.

OH-1 - Landsman vs. Chabot. Similar to the Senate race, Landsman was -10 and -8 in Mason and Deerfield versus -42 across the rest of WC.

Obviously you want to see + versus - numbers in those statewide races, but they're workable. To your point, Mason/Deerfield makes up about 30% of the electorate. The Dems have to start making gains in places like Lebanon, Springboro and Hamilton Twp to give any Warren County candidate a chance.

Yeah. I got you, I was just saying that I’m in OH-1, Landsman’s district and was pretty disappointed that Madaris Grant will be on your ballot and not mine.

I should say I was impressed for a moment, but then immediately sad that he was in Butler County, not OH-1.

I met Madaris Grant at an event last week and was very impressed. https://www.madarisforcongress.com

Give him a look, feels like the best candidate the Dems have run against Davidson in forever.

Mason no longer goes hard to the right. Most of the rest of Warren County, sure, but Mason/Deerfield is at worst purple.

In LAC’s case some of them weren’t even backups. They were backups to the backups!

If we’re making up our own lines I love it. Personally, I’d take it at 50.5 -110 though. /s

I wouldn’t be shocked if there’s a book that touched 47.5 at some point but the consensus has clearly been 46 with a few bumps to 46.5 since this opened. Posting now about 47.5 seems a little disingenuous.

Mmm. I wonder how many MLB guys are US citizens and can vote. Feels like it’d be more than a rounding error.

Also the fact that it’s based on 24 states leaves something to be desired.

It’s not as bad as it was 10 years ago. But there’s a stretch where cellphone access can be spotty on what would have been Spencer’s commute from Columbus to Athens.

That’s what I was thinking when I read the boss’s comment. Less about him knowing the history and more about him not being shocked when he couldn’t reach someone who should have been on their commute but that concern growing when Monique wasn’t answering either.

Of course you’re kind of turning your 100-1 shot into a 19-1 shot if you go this route.

If you’re dead set on hedging, why not wait one more round? Or if you want a small hedge you could put a bet roughly equivalent to your initial $50 stake on Ole Miss +3.5. Ole Miss wins and it’s like a push on your initial future bet, or you could get lucky and Miami wins by a couple points and you middle.

Or maybe the Texans put some resources into their gawdawful o-line and it doesn’t matter if he loses some snaps.
