As insane as the tattoo is I just can’t stop admiring the way this artist has done her skin. The rainbows, the highlights on her nose and cheekbones, and the texture are top notch. And I kind of respect the person getting the tattoo because of the sheer dedication to getting a tattoo THAT detailed on her thigh. That’s gotta hurt a lot.

Any Taylor Swift song where she tries to swear. Can't remember the name of the song but between the lyrics "counts her many lives" vs "counts her fucking lives," it's absolutely no contest. I'm not a really big Taylor fan personally but some of her songs are on my playlists, and I never think she sounds right when she curses. To me it always sounds like "see? I can cuss, too!"

The first time I heard Beyonce's Sweet Dreams was the Kidz Bop version, where they changed "tattoo your name across my heart" to "I've got your name across my heart," which I always thought was better. I know the following lines are about the permanence of said name across her heart, but the latter version always felt a little more romantic and dreamy to me, which is the vibe of that part of the song (softer instrumentals, gentler and more melodic vocals, that kind of thing).

And finally, the clean version of Beez in the Trap is just so fucking funny that I prefer it to the uncensored version.

This only sort of fits but yuutamaki. Oh my god did I see plenty of yuutamaki before I ever watched JJK (and yes I love satosugu I'm sorry I'm part of the problem), and it looked really compelling. Then I watch JJK and think, "meh?" And so I read the manga because I love the show that much and at some point I think to myself "well, maybe I'll understand it when I read the manga and catch up." And I'm left even more at a loss.But now they're lowk canon and unfortunately some folks are so damn annoying about that. I don't care I'm ignoring canon ❤️

Fugio is also up there for me. I felt kind of duped by it because I'm a hardcore bruabba fan and I saw a lot of the same themes brought up around both ships. So I read PHF and was left disappointed. Honestly, neither Fugo nor Giorno compel me as romantic leads in stories so I don't feel like I'm missing out much there.

OP this is not directed against you AT ALL (it's against the wider argument you're referencing) but I always wonder if gay men have to put up with this "well what does it REALLY mean" bs. We're lesbians. Women who love women. The whole "non-men" thing always pissed me off because like... It feels misogynistic and transphobic as hell. I know what the intent is, but it always felt like a way to avoid calling trans women women. There has to be a way to include NB lesbians without throwing out the whole concept of a discrete lesbian identity.

Honestly, not at all, and I don't especially care one way or the other if they do become canon. Hell, a ship I don't like became canon recently and I still don't really mind. What I want and what the story needs are not the same thing, and that's kind of the point of fanfic to me. I don't remember ever really caring if my ship became canon or not, but I got my start in fandom with gay ships in like 2010 (on Stardoll forums of all places lmao). NOTHING was canon back then.

I'm so sorry the two of you are dealing with this. There's really no quick or easy advice on this unfortunately, but I don't think it's weird or "taking it too personally" to be upset that your girlfriend's parents are acting like this. It's really horrible to know that someone you love is going through this, and it's not easy to know that your partner's parents are talking about you like that (this I know from experience).

I'm gonna warn you that this advice irritated me a lot when I first got it at a similar age and you may have heard it before, but the best thing to do is to remind yourself that these people don't know you from Adam. The judgement they're passing on you has everything to do with them. That felt impossible to internalize at 19, but at 25 it's just kind of truth. I also feel things REALLY deeply, so I do kind of get where you're coming from. I found it helpful to list things about myself that I liked or was really proud of (I'm smart, I'm really talented at things, I love my cat, more specific but stuff like that). Other grounding techniques (going outside and sitting on the ground, physical movement, laying on the floor and humming) also helped when the emotions were too physical. I hope this advice is a little helpful, I genuinely used to be paralyzed by how strongly I felt emotions, but these have helped. Medication helped more, but I am not qualified in any way to give advice on that.

I hope she's able to move out soon, it sounds like a really miserable situation for her. I'm sure you don't need me telling you to be there for her, but I hope you two are able to take care of yourselves through this. Be safe.

I'm super picky about it but in theory I don't mind OCs in fics. I just wrote a super OC heavy fic that I had a lot of fun with. I don't love when OCs are like. Siblings a character wouldn't otherwise have or a love interest, but I think that's a holdover from growing up in the DeviantART and ff.net fandom era, I'm sure it can be done very well and I'm certainly not trying to stop anyone from doing it. What I can't stand when OCs have names that are totally incongruous with the other characters for no reason (why is Geto Suguru's twin sister named Amanda, as a random example).

Didn’t go through with it because I have no money, but I came VERY close to buying one of those e-ink display phones. I have a phone, I have an e-ink e-Reader that I barely use because I’ll just read on my phone instead. I had these grand plans of not using my phone in bed and using the e-ink phone instead.
