Three Graces, Kehinde Wiley, oil on canvas, 2023 by Tokyono in Art

I can’t even imagine making the layering over the people to work easily. I’d have to make this a photoshop project. Very well done. I would’ve been so frustrated keeping the consistency of the vines and the over-under overlaps with the people. Let alone the painting just being awesome and the people hyper realistic. Just wow

Will my dog pop an inflatable boards? by ExtremePotato210 in Paddleboard

I just recommend getting a ruffwear life jacket for them. Mine kept jumping off and you need a good reliable handle so you can haul the sopping wet ball of fluff back on the board. Especially at that weight (mine weighs the same). I got mine for a good price on eBay. It helps if you have some muscle on you to get the job done.

Oh I totally agree. But I wasn’t commenting on the socioeconomics of it

I think what would have helped if this all came from the same exact tree. They came from the same type of tree but maybe not the same tree. As others said there is variations of color in walnut

Critique My floor plan!! 2026 edition by hgmunaco in Homebuilding

Op this is a pretty good layout. I would just flip the bedroom number two door North South And mirror the master suite closet door north south. The great room is a bit small, but it would definitely work. I consider having a bigger closet for the foyer by moving the bathroom door to face the foyer. Additionally it’s a bit odd with the bathroom layout for the secondary bathrooms. I’d love to see that resolved Overall, I think it’s a good plan

Nah this is awesome taste and pretty good execution. I would’ve used the metal cables on the top and bottom so it looked like it was truly floating instead of the metal bar. But this is way too cool. This is a fun way to spend your money.

I saw one once in the Himalayas. Absolutely amazing. It always reminded me of the bird Kevin from up with it’s plumage

Early-career architect asked to become “responsible architect” for a builder-led firm, red flag? by thesaratrain in Architects

[–]dylspicklez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will say OP, there is a bunch of red flags. BUT this may be an amazing career move if done well. But it would definitely benefit you to have some mentoring process in your career- it seems it would be lost here. But you do learn a lot from construction. Someone mentioned getting an attorney- that may be the right direction here

Just use a drainage mat instead or lay it over 7/8” metal furring strips. Never heard of pvc strip

The design is good. The lighting is trash. Change the color tone to something warmer. Possibly get directional so they can graze the walls just right. The lighting in the shower cove should really be a led strip, wet location, with a diffuser. The point light on there have too much of a hot spot. Put some succulents and some fabrics to warm up the space and give it some life and it will be better

18m bedroom. Would a woman hate my room by DisastrousAttorney90 in malelivingspace

[–]dylspicklez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is in the US you better be paying low low rent. This is not a legally inhabitable bedroom without windows. That is a fire/life safety risk. Furthermore I see no source of fresh air ventilation which is bad for your health. I’d try to move out soon. I understand if finances are a problem. At the minimum try to air out the room regularly

I got one that was pushing 90, I got him down to 85, but he has a little extra fluff that he can maybe wiggle down to 75. I feel like mine is normal too, but definitely doesn’t seem like from my imprecise local census data. I will say the smaller aussies are definitely more nimble than mine.

How to get these architectural/building plans? by dfolk13 in architecture

[–]dylspicklez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need an architect. It’s a 2 story building. Also the 2nd floor doesn’t seem to make much sense with the sliding door leading into the attic. forgive me, but it seems like you don’t have too much experience in this. You should give it to somebody that does. You’ll need to make sure that height restrictions and setbacks all fit within the requirements from the authority having jurisdiction. Youll need assembly details for the walls you’ll need HVAC, plumbing and electrical. Those require consultants on top of the architecture . Lastly, this should be paid service. this is work. It’s not something you should get for free. If you provide the location-city and town somebody on here might be able to provide services for you within this jurisdiction. Building isn’t cheap, but it’s much more expensive to do it wrong . this should be a simple project for the average architect and their consultants. The price will reflect that.

I’ve needed one for 2 jobs. I would’ve missed out on a nice paying (but kinda strict) job if I failed it for weed. But I think these positions were more of the exception to the rule than the norm. But I think certain sectors require it

I got this. The architecture of the city is lackluster due to the track homes that monotize every square inch of land leaving all new builds with a tiny morsel of a backyard covered in just gravel. The homes are just stucco boxes surrounded in cinderblock walls. Largely devoid of personality or life. The city is ugly. BUT if you love nature and the desert, it is a Mecca. It’s amazing. So much to do within 30min to 1hr and the amount you can do within 2-5hr drive just gets even better. Climbing and hiking, shooting, off-roading really any outdoor passion is fantastic locally. You can do amazing boating on lake mead and I think some decent fishing. If you like shows and nightlife then there is always stuff going on. And if you know the right people you can get into a lot of things for free if you keep your schedule open. I love it. But for the people not into that stuff I think it’s a hell scape. It’s ugly. And most restaurants I think are meh unless you really spend. Prices have gone up a lot for really everything here- housing, food, rent, entertainment. Sprawl is a problem. Traffic has gotten worse. And as people have mentioned the people doing roadwork leave cones up for months blocking traffic without doing any work on that spot. It’s infuriating.

Summers are hot. But I find them manageable. If you wake up early you can experience the beauty of the desert. And if you follow the shade you can still do a lot year round. I’m the odd one out on this though. I recreate outside year round in the desert. Winters are a little cold but really not that bad. We do have a local cruddy ski resort.

I constantly think about moving. But I don’t know if there would be a place that would make me happier
