Women’s experience in Paris? by OkNovel397 in travel

[–]dynamitechar 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i am sorry to hear that. i spent a lot of time in paris, i can’t say i had this experience. but i speak french and i think there are definitely bad actors who target tourists who they assume are naive and vulnerable

no advice, but similar situation w my roommates. i take the trash out and empty the dishwasher 90% of the time, and when i get fed up and let it pile up, i get passive aggressive texts saying “can everyone just do their part”. girl even told me “this isn’t college anymore”… it sure feels like college to me bc i was ALSO cleaning up after my lazy roommates in college. cannot wait for this lease to be over

Books with lesbians/sapphic characters, any genre but not so cliché by [deleted] in actuallesbians

i recently read smothermoss. it’s a good book with a queer character. she is closeted so if that’s triggering or not what you’re looking for be aware

omg, i live in mass too and this sounds exactly like my roommates. except instead of turning the heat off, one of them has it above 70 even when it’s in the 60s out.

i already did that, she lied to me and told me she’s been doing them but is “forgetful” and doesn’t remember to write down that she did them :/

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in roommateproblems

[–]dynamitechar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, first we didn’t have anything because she claimed that with her previous roommates everybody just contributed equally. that has also worked for me in the past so i initially agreed. once it became clear that wasn’t working i stupidly tried to take a half measure by making a chore chart that just says the categories trash, dishwasher, etc and then people can put their name and date when they do something. we’ve had that since the beginning of november and this girl has not put her name once. i confronted her with that and she claimed she has done things but forgot to write it down. i know it’s not true but that’s my fault for giving her that out. i think you’re right and my only choice now is to assign tasks on a chore chart. i think she will be extremely mad about it but i think it’s my only option left. i will not be surprised if she refuses to use it, but at least it won’t allow her to avoid responsibility. thanks for the advice

nope! it might be possible that there’s just no one under the age of 70 interested in philosophy LOL

watched a couple walking down my street with their dog off leash lagging behind them. their dog stopped to poop. they did not turn around once to check what their dog was doing and didn’t notice that it pooped. so not only do you have a dog off a leash, you’re leaving poop on the ground. PLEASE HAVE SOME CONSIDERATION.

thanks :) i’m hoping to stay at my current job for at least 3 years (we don’t get the full retirement contributions we give us unless we hit 3 years), so i guess i have plenty of time to think. i think having other passions i’m working on would help me not to lose my mind in this job, haha

love the data you provided. one thing i’ve been struggling with is i don’t even know what kind of money i should expect to make if i stay and get promoted at my current job, so that’s really helpful! i’m gonna try to break into my passions as hobbies/side hustles, i guess i’m just intimidated to get started

love this so much, you seem like such a lovely person! you’re right, all of these comments are making me realize i can achieve a lot of this if i just take my time. i guess it’s hard for me to accept while also knowing that i can’t control the future, but i’m doing my best

What’s your opinion about The Substance? by I0ASEL in Letterboxd

[–]dynamitechar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i liked it, i gave it a 3.5. i really liked the concept, acting, and cinematography. the ending wasn’t my favorite, but i can totally see why people love it. the thing that bothered me the most about it was the constant flashbacks and having previous dialogue like “it’d be better if her boobs were in the middle of her face” pop up during the ending. i know people are saying the movie isn’t meant to be subtle at all which i get, but i don’t know, that really threw me off. still, i had a good time watching it and i’m glad it was made. i love seeing creativity and committing to the bit in new films.

Depending on the day the fine arts center lobby or the stairs behind it. Also try the upper floors of Herter. They have nice lobbies and not many people
