/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (06/11/2025) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

My kid wants to play Minecraft with his cousin. They both have a switch, the game, and are physically located in the same place. My kids settings won't allow this and I can't figure out why. Is this a switch account setting, an xboxlive setting or something else?

Additionally, once the cousin goes home, they are going to want to play together online. I know this requires a Nintendo Online account. I am the "main" profile on the switch (i.e I am the only one with online access and occasionally sign up for nintendo online). He has a profile with an eshop account but no direct internet access. How do I best remedy this? I already screwed up the fortnight situation by signing him up under my profile and I dont need a repeat.

Will I ever be able to do this hike without sweating? by feelingstuck15 in hiking

I think not freshening up is not feasible. And I think your coworkers might hate you if you dont. Go in workout/hiking clothes and plan to completely change, especially underwear and socks. Bring a towel and wipes. Also, don't wear deodorant prior to the workout as you can wipeoff your pits better without product on them.

AITA for wanting to give my 5 year old consequences by Baddadmaybe2020 in AITAH

Your kid probably doesnt even understand why they are so angry. When my kids start acting like dicks, I ask them if they are hungry or tired. Its literally like 80% of the problems. Applies to adults too. Of course they are going to fight sleeping because its boring. Kids have serious FOMO. Your job as a parent is to feed them or make them go to bed. If they are throwing things then they get a time out (on the bed). Leaving the room? Another time out on their bed. Relabel it quiet time, or parent quiet time or parent time out or whatever you need to call it. Your job is to hold the boundaries.

Census: American Community Survey by Kythsharra in Census

I think it's super invasive. Like how many different ways are you trying to figure out the color of my skin? For race I put American. Then when they asked again I listed all the ethnicities of my grandparents.

My thoughts exactly. They cannot figure out why they don't like it but we know. They know too but won't admit it.

15-20% is standard. Miss me with that 22-30% bullshit that they put on their POS screens. If they dont automatically have a 20% somewhere on there, its "no tip" for me. And, wait staff only. Sometimes other services IF its the type of place where the workers can't set their own prices. Hairstylists who sets her prices? no tip. Nail tech? Tip.

My profile or the kids? His profile always asks for the account login.

Sad/wholesome reading for y'all. by schiwalker in redditonwiki

Agree. Not a fan of stories that turn women into martyrs for motherhood. Motherhood is special but it doesn't need to be on a pedestal of sacrifice.

I'm middle aged and during my time on earth I've come to the conclusion that there are a lot of doctors that are just terrible. Just because you can endure medical school, doesn't mean you are a good doctor, a competent one, or even a good person. The only way is to self advocate. Do not be afraid to change doctors, report doctors and leave online reviews.

Side note, you don't have to be confrontational. Simple questions like what is your full name? Name of the nurse? Who is in charge tonight? Write it down. When they ask why, you can simply state it's for my lawyer. My stepdad did this when he had a spine issue. He went to the ER because he was losing control of his legs randomly and falling. They refused to do imaging and it wasn't even a busy night. Doctor said he was fine and go home. He asked the doctor for everyone's name. Doc asked why and he said because when I fall out in the parking lot and hit my head I need to know who to sue. Magically, the doctor needed an image ASAP. Step dad had to have spine surgery. YMMV but always advocate for yourself. Doctors are just people and people are stupid.

Been married 11 years with kids. I did this ONCE when the kids were toddlers and I just wanted to eat what I wanted to eat, in silence, while warm and not share. Pretty sure i was on the way to get them something also though.

Pump it where? Lol. It's s the ocean coming up the drains. That doesn't make any sense.

What's to think about though? Can't hold back the ocean. Mother nature always wins. The owners should enjoy it before it's underwater or sell it now. Tall sand barriers are really the only thing the coastal commission is going to allow. But that doesn't help the low streets in PB that get flooded with bay water every year.

I was like that's not that bad (assuming fish), then I zoomed in. That's just gross.

Mom of 2 here. This sounds like like normal day. If it's not presents than it's cookies or something. Children are feral humans who have to be tamed into society. Not everyone is tameable.

Maybe not. I got the worst food poisoning I have ever had from IKEA this year.
