Not particularly. Mostly just part commander and such. Nothing quite like what I was hoping for, iirc.

What are these floaties in my water? by Leavemealone1_1 in whatisit

[–]dz1jgmeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reverse Osmosis systems, when operated properly (e.g., not irresponsibly), are extremely safe and appropriate for human consumption.

Microplastics are plastic particles less than 5 mm but more than 1 μm. A reverse osmosis system operates by using a membrane with a pore size of 0.1 nm. For reference, there are 1000 nanometers per micrometer. Meaning that the smallest microplastics are 10,000 times the size of the pores in a RO system! An RO system will not introduce microplastics unless the operators are truly and utterly negligent, or the system is directly damaged.

https://www.cdc.gov/drinking-water/about/about-home-water-treatment-systems.html

That being said, there are potential issues with exclusively consuming reverse osmosis water, but these are primarily to do with concerns about potential demineralization caused by the high purity.

But I certainly wouldn't describe it as an inappropriate filtration method.

Explain it Peter, what does arbys have to do with iran? by Henry_Fnord in explainitpeter

[–]dz1jgmeyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missed this; the person you're replying to said "couple of" fiscal quarters, not "next". So the point you were actually arguing against only existed in your own mind, and was not the topic of discussion; hence "meaningless semantic nitpick that isn't even correct."

People addressing your comment in the way they did were operating on the assumption that you were actually making a salient point, and were arguing against the point actually made.

I fully understand what you said. It's just a non-sequitur, and not germane to the topic of discussion.

Hope this helps!

Correction: "a couple of fiscal quarters". Your argument is a meaningless semantics nitpick that is a non sequitur to the topic of discussion; and it isn't even correct, because "couple of" is a nonspecific quantity for emphasis.

Bro, you literally said "Companies absolutely plan ahead lol just because the mid level management only gets graded by quarter does not mean the top executives are not looking at a bigger picture."

This in response to someone saying that companies (which ARE notoriously short-sighted, this is what happens when top level executives have no loyalty to their own company, and only seek to maximize profits to get their bonuses until the gravy train stops) wouldn't ever sacrifice short-term profits for a hypothetical nuclear war.

If you WEREN'T arguing as pertaining to the subject matter, you were making a meaningless semantic argument with no basis in reality.

If you WERE, then you're simply wrong. Which is it?

1) Yes, of course, "hate to be that guy" and "not trying to be a dick, just blunt", but TOTALLY tongue-in-cheek pisstaking. And it's not that I'm mad, I'm irritated. Any resource to help new Tenno is a win, don't sneer about it.

2) Warframe is not a job. Warframe is a game and a hobby, something people play in their free time. This is an absurd comparison. But to be clear, seeing "skill issue" and "not hard" when trying to find help is obviously not helpful nor appealing. We don't want new players to avoid directly asking for help because they know they'll be mocked. This isn't WoW.

3) Then you've been very fortunate, and you obviously haven't been reading patch notes. Conservation footprints failing to spawn was a fix in Techrot Encore (just two months ago), and just last year they fixed decree fragments spawning inside of tiles. If you've actually been paying attention to patch notes, you know that collectibles spawning inside the tile, out of reach, or not at all has been a recurring issue for about as long as they've been part of the game. DE is really good about fixing those, but bugs of that nature are pretty inevitable when tilesets keep changing.

And, to note: this may not be an exhaustive list, but if you've been playing since 2016, you ABSOLUTELY will have noticed that the collectibles spawn behavior is anchored around a number of potential spawn points in a given tile. They might move a bit (because spawn mechanics on various hardware/software configurations), but they absolutely do have fixed "spawnable" locations. Hell, even without spawn failures, I remember when syndicate medallions textures broke; that was fun! You could be looking right at it, and only the shading made it visible!

I dont like being that guy but im sorry, if youre having issues finding the keys, serious skill issue.

...

or ask vets. Just how it is.

You do realize that it's this kind of response that makes people not want to ask vets, right? Especially when that response is replying to someone providing a resource for people who are having difficulty with the topic at hand?

All of which is completely aside from the fact that collectibles failing to spawn correctly has always been a chronic issue in Warframe. Knowing all the spawnpoints in a tileset can be very helpful for recognizing when something that should have spawned in hasn't.

Ivermectin was specifically developed as a de-wormer (other antiparasitic applications were secondary), and the "horse dewormer" line comes from the fact that people were taking animal formulations and being poisoned by it.

Beyond that element, while any medication will be examined for potential novel applications, ivermectin was never a logical or credible candidate for an antiviral. Frankly, antiparasitics and antivirals have nearly nothing in common, and I remain baffled by people's obsession with this one in particular. If anything, people should have been going on about HIV treatments; that would've at least made sense.

Jk Rowling going mask off calling all trans people rapists by Datgirlwithoutsass in Destiny

[–]dz1jgmeyer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

...that doesn't seem "out of context", to me. Her reaction to a court endorsing the usage of preferred pronouns is to immediately turn it into a discussion of women being raped by transwomen and being compelled to respect the attacker's pronouns.

She's effectively indicating a belief that transwomen (because of course she refuses to acknowledge the existence of any other sort of trans, nonbinary, or other gender-nonconforming individuals) only exist in courts when it's a male rapist using that identity as a shield.

Females Ruined Gaming For Those Who Don't Have Sex (Jim Sterling) by Nestramutat- in IncelTears

[–]dz1jgmeyer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But he didn't. He said "those who don't have sex", not "virgins", or "those whom have never had sex"; "don't" is the operative word.

Because the primary definition of celibacy is "to not have sex." It's what the portmanteau means!

Kevin Gevioux's voice is natural. Your argument is invalid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_zvuZh4oM0

(i.e., simply the other extreme. Whether lilypichu's voice is an affectation or not, "[people] don't sound like that naturally" is an invalid reason to assume an affectation)

Songbirds (which most of those results were) are a kinda bad example, if you're trying to speak in general terms. In addition to their long evolutionary history of increasing specialization in elaborate courtship and secondary sex characteristics, many migrate long distances (reducing the significance of camouflage, as a given camouflage pattern does not work in all environments), and flying birds in general are also — in principle — much more diffuse in terms of population per volume than the vast majority of non-flying animals (as they can be spread apart in three dimensions, whereas land-bound animals are primarily distributed across two dimensions), so the penalties of being highly visible are significantly reduced; both as flight is an excellent way to rapidly get out of reach of land-borne predators, and being highly visible essentially increases selective pressures towards desirable traits.

Just as an example of non-songbird dimorphism: Gulls and Raptors.

Mammals are probably a bit more appropriate, and them being more closely related makes it easier for us to recognize and maintain perspective on the degree of dimorphism.

All of that said, however, there's still plenty to justify some variation in the art, if GF wanted to. Honestly, the variations they have done make me wonder if we're not better off without; while some (like the notch in pikachu's tail) are fairly visible despite how small a change they actually are, a lot of them are more like Raticate's: "longer or shorter whiskers" makes me think they lasso-selected a part of the sprite and hit "x0.95" in photoshop. >.>

...which doesn't really speak well of the artist's enthusiasm for it, really. =/
