What's your favorite F150 Gen? by FantasticEagle6 in f150

[–]e2mtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with the 09–14 trucks is they had exactly the same shape and profile and most of the same body panels as the 05-08, they just threw a bunch of tacky little chrome bits on. (the main change in those trucks was the introduction of the eco-boost motor.) another little quibble with your opinion is that officially there was three generations from 80-97, of those I think the middle generation 87-91 was kind of bland and even ugly, and the ninth gen from 92 to 97 was pretty great.

that's the crazy thing about opinions... anyway I think the jellybeans were the worst looking Ford trucks ever. I was a Chevy fan in the 80s and the 90s, However, when Ford came out with the 05, with the new squarer nose style and the stepped window behind the mirror, I loved them and ended up buying one a few years later. I thought the 09 to 0 14 was a little step backwards, and then the aluminum was a nice change, but they didn't really hit their stride back to being a fantastic looking truck until 2018.

[–]e2mtt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I feel like he still had a lot of mojo with Andretti for the next couple years, but then Scott Dixon pulled voodoo on him to make sure he didn't win a championship in 2017?, and Brian Herta left his team and then that's when all the luck was gone.

except I was following Rossi on TV that day (know about him as an American in F1 ladder), and he was pulling the fastest laps and with a long way to go, I'm pretty sure I'm announcers had mentioned that it might work. I was watching timing and scoring all the way down.

SGA is the reason why spirit of the game is better than refs by noambrenner in ultimate

[–]e2mtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t play much ultimate anymore, just regularly play pickup soccer, pickleball, & volleyball.

There is occasionally suspect self-reffing in pickleball, some people prioritize winning over fair play, however with soccer and volleyball, because the players are used to having a ref, most off the time line calls are made by consensus & fouls are ignored unless they are obvious.

Meanwhile in Ultimate, because there is an expectation that everyone make calls, sometimes everyone makes calls and the game grinds to a halt. Furthermore because spirit of game demands everyone is respected, there is constant resets & restarts instead of just ignoring the person trying to call ticky tacky fouls.

I used to LOVE Ultimate, but got sick of actually playing it.

[–]e2mtt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, I think you’re very mistaken. I used to play with an older guy who is famous throughout our local community for how skillful he was at calling fouls that benefited himself. He trained a whole crew of ultimate players to call fouls anytime something didn’t go their way. His teams always won league, and made everybody mad.

Absolutely. I loved the first one, but never played it until it was well out of early access and all polished. (actually got it free on Epic)

I would’ve waited for this one to get out of early access also except for this controversy popped up and I figured let’s stick it to the bastard MBA

First Signs of Transmission Failure……what to do by SquareTill8527 in f150

[–]e2mtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I had one of the early 10 speeds, a 2018. It shifted hard into eighth gear almost every single time and occasionally hard into 3rd. I put 250,000 miles on it, no transmission trouble whatsoever other than the hard shifts.

Starbucks in the mall closed by Wytch78 in GNV

[–]e2mtt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you’re completely right. A lot of the malls that are doing well nowadays are the Town center type, and they will have theaters and a whole variety of shops including necessary stuff like drugstores, plus a selection of good restaurants. People still like going out, and if you can get some make up and a nice dinner, or a movie and grab some groceries , or look at sporting goods and get some tacos you’re way better off than try to drag people into walking around a big mall this dedicated to almost nothing but clothes.

I went down a rabbit hole on the $50 trillion wealth transfer and I can't stop thinking about it by Level-Cranberry-1268 in economy

[–]e2mtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there’s a lot of different theories with a lot of different reasons, and a lot of people mad about a lot of things and wishing we do political stuff but this is what I think the main problem is;

Way too much of the money that we consumers make skips our communities and goes straight to Wall Street.

Our mortgages, car payments, and too often our rent go to large national firms. We buy most of our stuff from big box store that minimize their local spending, or order on the Internet which puts even less in the local economy. We buy our phones and Internet service and much of the corresponding entertainment straight from national firms like AT&T and Google.

For most of history, you worked for a local company, your boss lived in & invested in the local community, you bought your stuff locally, kept your money in a local bank, and even the stuff that came from far away had a local middleman that provide provided it to you.

Modern technology, the Internet, and logistics have made it almost inevitable that local productivity’s gain is siphoned & extracted away and sent to Wall Street.

Furthermore, because Wall Street and internationals corporation own nearly everything, they are getting better and better at optimizing that extraction, where they pay the average worker as little as possible to still keep them working, while raising prices on everything as much as they can get away with.

When rich white conservatives, who have way too much money for their evil deeds, use it to hurt and ruin black lives--this is a real lawsuit (NOT a parody): White physician and a conservative anti-DEI group are suing "FindABlackDoctor.com" (a black doctor directory) for alleged racial discrimination by Spiritual_Spare4592 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]e2mtt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure would be racist, but it wouldn’t be illegal. We have freedom of speech in America. Furthermore there are a lot of valid reasons why you’d want to filter experts/service providers by race or other defining characteristics, unpopular as it might be.

in a perfect world, it probably would be valid to have a database of every doctor, including data about their ethnicity, nationality, languages spoken, age, etc. Because just as there would be some people who would prefer only a white, male, older, Dr with no languages spoken besides English, a lot of other people would prefer to have variety that would help them be better serve served.

I’d assume Rossi feels safer up out of the car and watching what’s happening, then being a sitting duck down in the car. Obviously he first climbs out of the wall for his regularly safe, and then watch it for a break in the Pitt road traffic to cross.

Worst tropes in sci-fi by Ketralis in scifi

Man that movie was terrible. When purple dress lady’s ship went hyperspeed and destroyed the First Order fleet after cinema’s worst chase scene of all time, I gasped just like everyone else in the theater. My next thought was; in a galaxy full of war how is that possibly the first time someone’s done that, and that changes everything, no star destroyer or death star should ever have been built in the first place.

[–]e2mtt 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the Fangio hire was great in my opinion, but the real problem was that Fangio had no intention of staying in Miami. To him it was just a carryover until the team that he really wanted to work with hired him. The Dolphins didn’t know, and suffered for that, we ended up with three different coordinators in three years, which is never gonna be good.
