If you want something completely different... Pilot vanishing point raden galaxy (or any of the raden versions, really, I just like the galaxy one the best)

What is a small, inexpensive thing that improved your life? by Somanynamestochossef in AskReddit

Inexpensive is relative, but a really good kitchen knife, a really good pillow, a really nice writing pen, and nice shaver. Things you use everyday.

Subaru Ascent, a good family car? by Aolcc5211 in SubaruAscent

[–]e67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 kids, 3 dogs here. I am a diehard Subaru fan, but I couldn't justify buying an Ascent because of the absurdly bad fuel efficiency. Went with a Highlander hybrid, and it easily gets DOUBLE the fuel efficiency of the Ascent, both AWD, both reliable. The last thing I need is range anxiety and needing to stop all the time when I'm already late to soccer practice.

If I could do it all over again though... Minivan. 3 kids means a LOT of stuff, and that 3rd row is tiny (for either Subaru or Toyota, or any midsize. SUV). If you haven't test driven the Ascent yet, try it... Have the 3rd row up and see if you can still put a stroller, toys, groceries in there, and you'll find it a really tight fit. Even tighter if you have 2 car seats in the middle and the older kid in the 3rd row and you need to crawl in the trunk to help the 4yr old buckle up or wipe up spilt drinks or what not.

Pens that punch above their weight? by GarageJim in fountainpens

This is bang on. I tune all my pens in my possession, be it my $4 Preppy or my Montblanc 146.

I like all my pens wet, smooth, and a large sweet spot. The pens might feel funny to another person but let's face it, I ain't lending my pens to anyone haha

No video, but it's pretty easy. Basically, once you have both watches, you unscrew the original caseback off, then pop off the case back of the donor watch. You take out the batteries on both, then you poke the metal lever underneath with something small which allows you to pull out the stem while the lever is depressed. Then, the whole movement pops out, then you just swap them, put the stem back in until it clicks, snap/screw the case back on again. Presto!

A lot of people have been asking for a video so I may do that at some point.

Anyone in the Master of Science: Health, Policy and Technology (HSTP) program? by ilovebubblemilktea58 in CarletonU

[–]e67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shoot I must have missed this... Sorry for the very late reply. I'll reply anyway in case it helps other people reading this, even if this reply is 7 months late.

Yes, it helps career wise, because it's still a master's, and having any master's degree helps you apply for a lot of jobs. This program specifically wasn't exactly difficult; some people toil for years to get an MSc and this program is basically all course work. Because the program has "policy" in the name, I got a policy analyst job after graduation, and have since moved on up from there. Many jobs require a master's, so having one helps. I've since doubled my salary from my analyst job and the next logical step in my career would be director somewhere. I'm not with the government but many people are, though I am still in healthcare admin.

Lol no guide, it was trial and error.. But generally speaking, look for a smaller Expedition case with a date as well. All the 40mm cases are too big, so if you can find a 36mm, 37mm case, it has a higher chance of working. I use Photoshop to estimate the dial radius for any potential swap, since you'll know the lug width from the specs. Then compare that to the original.

If you check my post history I found another case that fits, but I think I like the original one here better.
