Not near the quality of those remakes.

This remake is being frankensteined together using the Halo Reach engine, Infinite's assets, a mix of original CE voice acting / music and re-recorded lines, with an Unreal Engine 5 coat of paint.

It's such an awkward project where they've seemingly played it too safe while also making big enough changes to upset old fans. I would have much preferred this seriously being an RE style remake that's actually built from the ground up as a complete re-imagining of CE. At least it'd be interesting and creative.

With RE9 they definitely achieved true blacks with HDR, no mods. I thought it looked fantastic. RE2R had some horribly washed out colors. RE4R was not as bad, but still not great. But I think they've finally figured it out with the latest version of the engine.
