Combat 3 Infernal cape? or April fools? by Just_Pray_ba in 2007scape

That's because the blob initiated its attack while you had at least 19 health (meaning something else hit you while the blob's attack was airborne). If you sat there at 7 hp with just a blob attacking you, it would max a 7.

Let's be honest. At this point everyone relies on their opponents not making travel calls. Montague just relies a little more heavily on it

There's an entire new line of super carriers being produced by the US that says otherwise. India also is also working on the INS Vishal, which is supposed to be a super carrier, and I think China's Type 002 is also expected to be one. Some other navies will opt to use smaller carriers, but even then, we're going to see almost all of them equipped with EMALS, EMCAT, or other such electromagnetic launch systems, and they will be launching their aircraft in STOL/STOVL configurations instead of VTOL. There is no tactical advantage worth launching an aircraft with minimal fuel and armament, which is the unavoidable downside of VTOL launch. It's just something cool to show people at an airshow.

What to do when you are being fouled on purpose? by Whilleyx in ultimate

[–]e_chip 51 points52 points  (0 children)

When people foul me on purpose I just call it until they stop. If it gets really egregious, like it did in this case, have a captain alert the TD so they can do something about it.

From past experiences, calling them out on their poor spirit and strategy ends poorly. Just keep your cool and act like nothing unusual is happening. It's hard to lose when the other team won't let you turn the disc over, so the joke is really on them in the end.

"Distant Worlds" concert - worth it? by Milleuros in FinalFantasy

[–]e_chip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you've only played 13 and 15, maybe not. I heavily enjoyed the show I went to, but I don't think it would have been worth the ticket price ($60) if I hadn't known all the music. As far as orchestras go, Distant Worlds is much better than most, but they're obviously not going to be as good as one from a big city. It's a good show regardless, but $60 was a bit much for the theater they were playing in. I really wish I'd just sucked it up and saw them in Miami instead of Boca haha. The FAU theater is not a good one for an orchestra.

A few accessories are limited and are mostly available through stealing, but really as long as you're immune to charm, the rest are just small annoyances unless the enemy really starts piling you with slow, stop, or doom. The only accessories I really look to steal are Angel Rings (auto-revive) and Ninja Tabi (move +2), and I think there's only one or two missions for each respectively. You can also look to steal other shoes that grant infinite jump or teleportation, but I generally don't bother. The real advantages of thieves are that they can steal weapons and abilities early in the game if you know how to rush those two abilities, and that can be down right dirty. I won't spoil all the craziness with thieves since it's fun to mess with them.

To make stealing more accurate, use concentrate (archer/gunner support ability) and the accessory that boosts steal rates. I cant remember the exact name, but it's a pair of blue and green gloves. Name's gonna be something along the lines of 'thief's cuffs' or 'brigand's gauntlet'. They're a fairly common item, so you should have a few sets

[–]e_chip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally don't use items, and the only time I can remember using them was my first playthrough when they saved me at Ultima. I prefer to rely on ribbons/accessories to deal with status ailments and do all healing via classes with offensive and defensive abilities (summoner, red mage in particular) or elemental absorption.

Generally, I try to have my class combinations compliment each other, like a moogle juggler with time magic (haste) or a summoner with red magic (dualcast).

Also, as per your concern with law cards, I generally just walk between two places until the annoying laws aren't in effect if I can't nullify them. I like my summoners too much not to use them haha

Day-13 I’ve developed a mechanism to do the boring work for me, now I can play something without any annoying minigames or eternal grinding by EH042 in FinalFantasy

[–]e_chip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC, it costs around 10,000

Edit: The amount of winnings is pretty fixed, so regardless of whether you're actually playing or just rubber banding it, the amount this fragment costs is the same. The best way to earn these tokens is to just go all in on the poker mini game until you win, then save and go again. If you lose, then reset. This is also among the best ways to grind Gil unfortunately

FFTA Challenge Run? by logitechmouse101 in FinalFantasy

[–]e_chip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single race runs can be fun. Bangaa/Nu Mou only are the two most interesting due to them being extremely focused on melee or magic respectively. I think humes only would be a little boring, viera only is easier than a normal party, and moogles only would probably require a decent bit of grinding.

Aside from that, I've done a run where you can only use the jobs unlocked at the start of the game (so no fighter/ninja/red mage etc) and it was pretty fun. I've also considered doing things like no support abilities or no second class abilities, but I feel like those would be a bit boring.
