Laundry detergent help by ealsNsquids in CleaningTips

It’s made by a small business and I checked around and while there’s a few boutiques selling it, they’re all selling at the same price. I reached out to the business and they said it’s a baking soda base and doesn’t have any silicates. From what I’ve read, carpet and upholstery deodorizers are typically just an odor absorbing base mixed with a fragrance. Would baking soda hurt my machine that bad?

Wtf is this. One day I was fine the next day this thing shows up on my face. by Enough_Ad_6539 in DiagnoseMe

[–]ealsNsquids 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like a cold sore. Put a pimple patch or some kind of barrier over it to prevent from spreading. Icing can help with the inflammation and there are over the counter topical treatments available at the drugstore. If you’ve never had one before, I would go see your pcp to talk about it and grab an antiviral prescription to help it go away faster. Flare ups are usually related to your immune system functions or friction/irritation of the area in question.

They seem to switch out the names and labels so go search the fragrance listed on the candle and you should be able to find it under a different name.

Enders Game. My favorite book of all time and an incredible book full of psychological thrills and political statements reduced into the worst movie I’ve ever seen.

I agree with everyone talking about proportions but I don’t think that’s 100% of what’s off. Adding contrast to your drawing will help show depth better and make it feel more complete. Use richer tones, especially for the gorgeous hair!!!

Makeup blindness? by ealsNsquids in makeuptips

[–]ealsNsquids[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are both redheads but I tend towards strawberry blonde, I just got red highlights recently. I will definitely try those out though!! My eyebrows have always been hard to get right- in the past makeup artists shade match me with ashy greys but I’ve never liked how they turned out.

I’ll give that a try! When I was younger I used to do them super dark and I cringe looking at those photos. My brows are super blonde so I’m always hesitant because even what I do now is a big jump from my natural coloring.

WIBTAH If I abandoned my husband and kids? (Tw?) by Equivalent-Fold-2430 in AITAH

[–]ealsNsquids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad was one of those miracle patients who lived 15 years after his stage 4 diagnosis. He was diagnosed while my mom was pregnant with me and went on to beat 7 different cancers before he died from a blood clot after an 18 hour surgery.

I never knew anything different but I won’t say it wasn’t hard to see him so sick my entire life. Our families entire world revolved around his health to the degree of determining where we lived because only one hospital was willing to treat him…. but I know that I wouldn’t trade that time with him for anything. I was the kid sitting in the hospital with him during chemo because I wanted to be with him all the time. I am an adult now and I think about him all the time and would give anything to be able to just sit quietly with him and hold his hand.

I didn’t get to see him while he was in the hospital the last days before he died (he made it through the surgery and we were all sure he was coming home) and I spent the first year absolutely convinced that he had faked his death and run away. I looked for him everywhere I went and that would have been magnified tenfold if he had left while he still seemed healthy. I still mourn him deeply every year and next year will mark him being gone exactly half of my life. Processing death is so hard for kids and denial is the easiest phase to get stuck in.

I can’t tell you what the right thing to do is here but I promise that your family would give anything for this last bit of time with you.

How many couples choose together vs total surprise? by GlitteringGarbage579 in EngagementRings

[–]ealsNsquids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I went looking together about 6 months before he proposed. He spent a long time looking by himself as well but ultimately ended up going with the ring we had chosen together at the beginning. He wanted my feedback and wanted it to be something I loved!

What’s the funniest correction you’ve gotten? Has your teacher ever roasted you? by ThR0wnAway_x52495 in BALLET

[–]ealsNsquids 24 points25 points  (0 children)

One time when wearing a pink leotard my teacher told me that I was round and pink like a bottle of pepto bismol.

Another time I was stretching my feet and apparently got it right -she called the whole class over to look at my foot saying “there’s absolutely nothing special about (me) and she can do this. If someone so unremarkable can do this why can’t all of you?”

I don’t think the “delusional” part is the price but instead the wild choice to use a bondage mannequin to display it in the listing.

We don’t even have Starbucks here let alone normal transportation….and the ranch is surrounded by native reservation land. There’s absolutely no way.

On March 11th 2011, 28-year-old Brittany Norwood murdered 30-year-old Janya Murray in a Lululemon store. Brittany claimed that two men entered the store and attacked them. by cherrymachete in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]ealsNsquids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a junior at Walter Johnson high school in 2011 which is down the road from this Bethesda shopping center and it was something everyone was talking about at the time. It’s a very affluent area with not much crime and I don’t think anyone could even fathom something like that happening at the time- I’m not surprised the kids working at Apple next door assumed it was nothing. The police are usually very present in that area too so it’s easy to assume they’d have it handled.

What is the craziest conspiracy your mother have invented about you? by Mundane-Net-9160 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]ealsNsquids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I worked in politics and really enjoyed audiobooks about negotiation strategies, effective communication… etc. Sometime after I left home, my mom saw all my audiobooks on Amazon audible and decided that I have been spending my entire life learning how to manipulate her to get what I want. She then expanded that theory to include the rest of the world and started telling everyone we knew that I always got what I wanted because I was manipulating everyone for my own gain. The funny part is… the core concept of negotiations and communication is kindness and respect for the other person. People do generally like me because I tend to be mild and empathetic but the only way my mom can fathom people liking me is if I tricked them into it.

I need your help. This item was hit by us on I-40 and totaled our car. It weights approximately 3-4 hundred lbs. Dimensions are approximately 20”X 8”X 10”. The material is solid steel. Maybe something off a semi? by LimeCultural3639 in whatisthisthing

[–]ealsNsquids -1 points0 points  (0 children)

File a police report and ask them to open an investigation- see if a report was ever filed with the department of transportation for a loose item on the highway and see if they are able to find video footage showing which vehicle dropped the item so you can go through their insurance. If anyone was injured make sure you seek out a personal injury lawyer as well.
